The Intermediate School in Borger is a great school. The teachers and principal have very high expectations for kids. I wonder if the first person who rated the school has a child that doesn't work hard or doesn't follow the rules. The school doesn't accept that and will hold kids accountable.

Borger Intermediate School is not perfect, but it has good teachers and a principal who cares about kids. I think they all work very hard to help kids learn and everyone there seems to have that same goal.

I do not agree with the first posting about BIS on this website. The teachers work hard and the principal has a big heart. I guess that can be interpreted as being a pushover. BIS is a great place for kids. They can still be kids without having the pressure of the middle school kids on them to grow up faster.

About the tests

In 2010-2011, the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) was used to test students in reading in grades 3 through 9; in writing in grades 4 and 7; in English language arts in grades 10 and 11; in mathematics in grades 3 through 11; in science in grades 5, 8, 10 and 11; and in social studies in grades 8, 10 and 11. TAKS is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Texas. The grade 11 Exit Level TAKS is a high school graduation requirement. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.
