Bridge City has great teachers and coaches. The teachers care and they also trust the students to be mature and let their parent know when somethings wrong. If their grades improve, they don't call parents. The one bad thing about BC is it is so small and there is a lot of drama and backstabbing. Senority is also a big deal. Respect the upperclassmen, that's a big deal.
Great teachers very dedicated there is also a new thing there doin whwree if a kid is falin a class they are required to stay till 330 and most of the high school gets off at three but the buses don't get there till three thirty
I recently just graduated from BCHS. They do care a lot about the TASK (or TAS). Most of the work we do revolves around it and some teachers just relate their teaching to it. But you do find those rare teachers who really do love teaching and it shows. You do find a lot of teachers who care about their students and their grades. Also unlike a lot of other schools I've been too, BC is not as clicky as most.
My son only attended BCISD for 2 years. He was a straigh A student before attending and left with a little less than straight A's. There was no indication from the teachers that he was having challenges or that he was goofing around and his grades were slipping. The academic program is adequate, I do wish there was a little more communication and interaction w/ students rather than 'read chapters 1-31 by Friday then there's a quiz'. Teachers were helpful once I addressed concern about slipping grades, the new Principal is helpful as well. The AP English program should have more grammer. AP Teacher is excellent. Teachers need more pay!
Strong quality of acedemic programs, good availability of the arts and sports, high level of parent involvement.
I am very disappointed in this school and its administrative staff. They do not contact the guardian when a student is having problems with their grades or in school. The level of teaching is not up to where it should be for the students to get a quality education. They are more interested in sports and the TAS test. Parent involvement is okay but could be better. The offer sports and more sports along with some music and art classes. Brand new school but needs a lot of work. If they paid teachers more, this might help the quality of the staff.
Pretty good school, everyone is really friendly and nice. Students are well to get along with. It does get kind of boring. All teacher and students know who everyone is and their parents since their is such a small number of people.
