My children have attended BISD since the very beginning, the intermediate is by far my favorite!! This school is great!!

The academic programs at Brownsboro Intermediate are excellent. My daughter loved all her classes and teachers there. She is now in Junior High and going good. The great thing is that my Vice Principal was her Principal. Mr. Beasley. I told her to ask about his war career but she didn't do that. She's too good of a student to get into trouble anyway. They also have great sports, art and music extracurricular activities. Most parents of the students there are heavily involved in the education their children are getting and the friendliness of all the staff to everyone, which makes our job as parents much easier. Thank you Brownsboro Intermediate for helping my daughter be the best she could be, even when she had her bad days.

About the tests


In 2012-2013, the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) was used to test students in reading and math in grades 3 through 8; in writing in grades 4 and 7; in science in grades 5 and 8; in social studies in grade 8; and end-of-course assessments for English I, II, and II, Algebra I and II, biology and US History. STAAR is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Texas. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.

The different student groups are identified by the Texas Education Agency; if there are a small number of students in a particular group, the state doesn't report data for that group.
