Great things are happening in this school. The principal is often seen directing traffic and the teachers are nice to my kids. Love my old school.

one start ifs too much for this school, but in order to rate I at least had to choose one. My son got suck at canales due to zoning. The vice principal believes that every child that struggles to learn has a disciplinary problem instead of actually assessing the child for a learning disability.it took me 3 years and a grade retention to finally have my son evaluated for special services. His response when the vice principal found out my son needed help was "oh so this whole time the boy would have passed his grades". I wanted to give him a piece of my mind. Canales is a disgrace, teachers are just there to collect a paycheck.

My daughter has been here since P-K now she is going to fourth grade. Most of the teachers are very nice. I didn't like the principal that was before I didn't even knew her name but the principal now is really nice and care about the students. My daughter loves all the activities like music and teathre arts.

My daughter when to this school for several years...the Cafeteria has chains on this emergency exit doors...principal attitude is the worst--was force to put her in a bilingual Gift and Talented program or I could to take her to other school that was more than 6 miles away. Very few staff members that care about their students...
