Northwest is a AMAZING school. All of my siblings graduated there and i just graduated this year. We've all been there since Pre-K and the staff members are really nice. Honestly, I have seen some troubles with students there but that's just a few and they were well taken care of. Even though they weren't "good" students the staff and teachers treated just the same. And there academics are actually pretty high. The teachers prepared us really well for our STAR/TAKS test. Every year, pretty much everyone passes the test. So if your looking for a Elementary School i HIGHLY recommend you going to this one. Everyone there is REALLLLY AMAZING. In that school it isn't always about learning learning learning, The staff members are really funny so they put humor in their teacher which is really good since kids shouldn't be sitting around and you know just be bored to death. I'm going to miss that school :(

About the tests

In 2010-2011, the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) was used to test students in reading in grades 3 through 9; in writing in grades 4 and 7; in English language arts in grades 10 and 11; in mathematics in grades 3 through 11; in science in grades 5, 8, 10 and 11; and in social studies in grades 8, 10 and 11. TAKS is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Texas. The grade 11 Exit Level TAKS is a high school graduation requirement. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.
