This school has a great reputation; a down-to-earth, smart, approachable principal; and many exceptional teachers. My child attended Bullard Primary in 2010. Here are some of the concerns I had: 1. Inadequate handwashing facilities. My child's class typically didn't get a chance to wash hands before lunch or snacktime because it was too difficult for the teachers to go into the restrooms to supervise. 2. Although administrators made a good effort, traffic and waiting times at pick up were a headache. 3. My child's teacher was frequently absent. Most of the substitutes seemed unable to keep the class safe and accounted for. 4. I asked repeatedly to come in and read, but never got a date. 5. The class frequently watched videos during library time. Some were not age-appropriate. 6. Although the teacher and principal were receptive and helpful, not much could be done to challenge my advanced child. 7. The gym floor was being refinished for about six months, during which time there was no running allowed. 8. At Xmas, they posted "Santa's Good List" and "Santa's Bad List" in the cafeteria. Public shame and bribery to get short-term behavior improvement? Bad idea!
