I go to holy cross right now and i am student there and it was the best choice to there. I hope that there will more students and i would love to have more kids come here. You will never think it was a bad choice. Kids should go to Holy Cross

As a former student at Holy Cross Christian Academy, I would love to give the school 5 stars! I believe it is a wonderful place to help give EVERY child a well-rounded education. I moved on to my next school (because I was older than the grade levels offered) that I attended and not only had an above average education as well as morals that I would not have learned in a public school atmosphere. The chapel experience is something I think everyone should experience. I had many close knit friends who I still keep in touch with and I have now graduated from college. This school and its educators made an impact on me that I will never forget! THANK YOU FOR THAT!!!

We could not have asked for a better first year of school for our son. The kindergarten teacher is absolutely outstanding and she created such special bonds with each of her students. She took the time to come to his baseball games and that truly meant the world to him. We will forever be grateful for HCCA

This was our first year at HCCA and could not be more pleased. This school is so much more than I could have expected. The Kindergarden teacher is the best any child could be blessed to have . She may only have them for 3 hrs and 15 min but during that time they learn more than you could imagine. She works the lessons into every aspect of their day. She has been teaching for 20+ years and lives and breathes HCCA. Many times I would call or text her and she would be at the school till late into the night. That dedication shows in what all my daughter has learned. One of the things I loved so much about this school is the communication between the teachers, staff, and parents. I received an email every week telling me what was going on the next week. They take the time to teach your child about life skills, critical thinking, and problem solving. Chapel everyday may only be 15 minutes, but it is a powerful 15 minutes. My daughter came home everyday talking about what book they were studying and reciting verses. I know that sending my daughter here was the best decision we could have ever made. I know that, because of this school she has had the best start to her education possible.

Although my child wasn't "barred" from reenrollment. My child was referred to a different school due the ADHD by the kindergarten teacher. We switched schools.

As a former kindergarten teacher, I prayed my daughter would have a teacher that enjoyed her job & loved her kids as much as I did mine. The kindergarten teacher at HCCA PUT ME TO SHAME!!!!! IT'S SO HARD TO FIND THE WORDS TO EXPRESS HOW TRULY DEDICATED, LOVING, & COMMITTED TO HER STUDENTS SHE IS!!! I have taught in 4 different districts with some outstanding teachers, but I've never seen anything like her before! As the previous parent stated, the list goes on & on of AMAZING things she does with & for her students! Not only did my daughter learn so very much academically, she grew emotionally beyond my greatest expectations! The kindergarten teacher also supported my daughter & my family through some extremely difficult personal issues. I THANK GOD FOR THE KINDERGARTEN TEACHER & FOR HCCA!

I disagree with "a parent who posted on June 30". I also have a child who has been diagnosed with ADHD and the kindergarten teacher was completely supportive and provided advice. I have never met a teacher who gives more of their personal time to the children in their class - year after year. A child will always remember that their kindergarten teacher came to their home to read him a bedtime story and tuck him in, that she came to their sporting event, dance recital, or cheering at a Pop Warner football game. When they are graduating from high school and they look at the scrapbook she made for them with individual pictures of their first day of school, career day of what they wanted to be when they grow up, the tea party at the teachers home, performing at the Hallelujah Hop, & the pages go on & on. These memories are priceless and this teacher pays for these things out of her own pocket to enhance the experience. The kindergarten teacher is amazing and will provide an education to your child where they will be wanting to come to school because of the caring and fun learning atmosphere. HCCA is an outstanding school to send your child for all of their K-8 years!

My oldest child is a recent graduate of Holy Cross. She has been well prepared for everything that will follow with strong academic skills and a strong spiritual base. Our children have had (and continue to have) teachers and administrators who go above and beyond for them. The academics are challenging and the teachers care about helping every student succeed. Our family is blessed by this school!

All three of my sons went to Holy Cross, and I can not express how grateful I am to all the teachers and the administrator for all the ways they have blessed my childrens lives. Not only did they receive an excellent education, but they were given the confidence to speak in front of a group of people and the character to be good examples to their peers. You could not find a more loving or supportative environment for your child.

I am a former public school employee and the mother of two girls (4th and 2nd grades) and I HIGHLY recommend HCCA. HCCA is an exceptional place where students are taught not only about the amazing world that God created, but also about who He is and how He works in the lives of His servants. Chapel is a daily part of the routine and the truth of God's word is interwoven throughout the curriculum. Students are treated as unique, valuable creations of God. Numerous special activities throughout the year contribute to the 'family' feeling of this campus. Tuition is very reasonable for the quality of education and the positive, supportive environment maintained by a team of extremely dedicated teachers and staff members. If you are looking for the best education in the best environment for your child(ren), then you should definitely consider HCCA.

My family and I have been a part of Holy Cross Christian Academy for 18 years. As a parent and staff member, our family has been blessed immeasurably by this school, it's staff and families. My wish is that every child would be able to attend our school, receiving a wonderful education in a loving, Christian environment. Visitors are always welcome. I hope you have an opportunity to come by and experience it for yourself. Mary & Steve Samuel

What a amazing school! We started our oldest child in kindergarten with the mindset that we would "give it a year" and see what we think. We were blown away with the experience! We absolutely adored the teacher and couldn't believe the way she brought the curriculum to life! Needless to say, we are still attending Holy Cross years later and have also started sending our daughter. The staff is incredible. The academics are fantastic. It is obvious they are working very hard to develop the whole child while sharing God's love with both the families and community. Can't imagine sending my children anywhere else!

HCCA feels the only child that deserves a Christian education are the easy to teach. The kindergarten class is also more of a co-teaching experience. As a parent you will have to assist in the teaching of your child immensely. Most activities are done during the day and would require you to take off on average 2-3 times a month or miss the production/party. The day is 3 hours long which includes a snack time, recess, chapel and centers. Centers being basically free playtime in the classroom. The amount of actual teaching being done warrants help from home. I would not recommend this school to full time working parents of a kindergarten aged pupil. My child has been diagnosed with add and was barred from reenrollment to the school. I have talked to other parents with similar experiences with the Kindergarten teacher. From them it seems she does this yearly and has no problem referring children out of the school. As a teacher she is not versatile and quick to blame the students for her lack of ability. She also missed over 30 days of school and left her aid to do the teaching.

This school is a hidden gem! I'm so impressed with the academics, the teaching staff, the variety of subjects covered in the advanced curriculum, the field trips, the community service projects, and so much more. They offer Tennis, Track and Volleyball starting in the early grades, too. The school's motto is "The Best Education, The Best Environment" and they are outdoing themselves in providing the best of both for my daughter (3rd grade). Beyond the stellar, challenging academics (which are on par with or even slightly ahead of other major D/FW private schools that charge $10,000 - $15,000 more per year), HCCA offers Character Classes once a week, and my child has the opportunity to learn and grow spiritually as she builds her own relationship with God. I am so thankful that we found HCCA!

Holy Cross strives each year to improve in the quality of educational services that they offer their students and families. Its emphasis on biblical principles, melded with strong educational practrices, makes it one of the premier schools in the area. On average, the current teaching staff has been with the school for 5 years. That range extends from some teachers who have been there as long as 19 years and some who have been there only 1 year. As the school grows, the teaching staff has doubled over the last 5 years. Holy Cross is committed to providing the best education in the best environment.

My child attended HCCA for several years, we did not return. Some of the faculty is wonderful while others seem to dislike their job. The administration sits back and chooses to do nothing when real problems exist. The school has the potential to be good but there is a lot of teacher turn over and from what we have seen the upper school has many problems.

This is my first year to be associated with HCCA. My oldest daughter is in Kindergarten. My wife has taught in Texas public schools for over 20 years. I can say with some authority that HCCA is exceptional in its academic, administrative, and disciplinary standards and achievement. The attitude of each member of their faculty and staff is one of dedication and commitment to excellence. HCCA is the genuine article. The interaction I've had personally with the faculty and staff has been honest, caring, and professional. I'm very grateful that we made the decision to place our child in their hands.

Holy Cross is a refreshing breath of air, where you find nothing common among students, teachers and studies. It brings not only a higher standard of teaching to the table but it allows Jesus to sit at that table with them. It is what every parent dreams about for their children and Holy Cross has made that a reality.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
