Every day my wife and I are so thankful our kids go to this school. It's like getting a private education at a public school. Administrators are phenomenal, teachers are hand selected and recruited, and the campus offers an outstanding educational experience. One of my children has had some struggles and everyone was so on top of things - intervening as necessary while making my son feel loved, strong, and capable. This school is no question a huge source of pride for the entire community. You can never make everyone happy but, to be honest, I've never met families that aren't happy overall. I'm guessing because it's pretty rare. Sometimes it's easy to lash out in anger publicly before allowing everyone the opportunity to take action. Giving the staff the chance to help, I don't think you'll ever be disappointed. My kids love it there.

Wouldn't it be great to have a Principal that was professional? I know I'd appreciate it. **This school profile needs a lot of updating as well. Example: Just because you give a kid a soccer ball at recess does not mean a school has soccer. We don't have half these clubs listed. Smoke and mirrors seams to be the game plan these days. I miss the heydays of NJE with parent volunteers, good morale and someone you could trust in the driver's seat. This NJE doesn't come close to its glory days.

North Joshua provides many opportunities for students to participate in along with offering excellent academics. Programs include TOT's, choir, cooking club, art club, science club, chess club, Caring for Earth and Others (CEO's), band, and Jump Rope for Heart. All staff are dedicated to making NJE an excellent place for students to learn. Parent and community involvement is very high and helps the school reach their goals for academic success.

We love North Joshua Elementary! We have such caring and loving teachers and staff. We also have such amazing parents who volunteer and are involved daily in the classroom. This is not only an excellent school, but a family. My kids are challenged academically and intellectually. This school surpasses my expectations of a public education and I am grateful.

My wife and I have two kids (boy and girl) that have attended North Joshua Elementary the last few years and we absolutely LOVE this school! It is obvious that the administration and teachers love the kids and love teaching. There have been a few times we were concerned with bad grades and the teachers were very helpful when we spoke to them. They really stretch the kids and expect a high level of achievement from them. It is amazing how much our kids have learned! There is also a very good amount of parent involvement and opportunities to help as a parent.

NJE disappointment - Communication is constant BUT so is the threatening undertone directed to parent and child. Second place has no value here. Rewards go to the same few without a breadcrumb for the efforts of the struggling or those who need it most. Fundraiser money is often used for things that hardly benefit student learning; however, these decisions are made "according to the majority vote", which usually happens at a meeting with no parent representation. They DO have rigorous academics that challenge most students but they also have a "perfection only, no exceptions" mentality that torments the "less than perfect" child. At times, teachers overlook lack of individual student growth, as well as errors in their own workmanship. If you demand perfection from my child, you better make sure that you, the adult, are AT LEAST as "perfect" as you ask them to be. Some staff is wonderful but there are several teachers/admin/counselor that are only "artificially concerned" about nurturing success in the WHOLE student. At times, treatment of my children has been unfair, disappointing me to the point of considering removal of my children from this school. Time for change!

I'm hoping that things will change, but I've been very disappointed this school year. There have been many (too many) outstanding circumstances that could not be helped but, the way they have been handled by administration is less than stelar. The decisions being made and very noticeable lack of communication or manipulation, has had a great impact on our children- who deserve better. I'm very tired of each decision made is STAAR first and our kids after. My child should not have the stress that comes from poor decisions. Our children are overworked, but in the past have been rewarded properly. I don't believe that is happening this year. I also disagree with the threatening emails about absences and not getting an award being sent out every other day to all parents lately. They need to be more worried about their students' education than getting an award ($). I save the best for last: The wonderful and outstanding teachers have adapted as best as possible and I am thankful to each. They truly are special and deserve 5 stars. The school is lucky to have them. I hope major changes come soon.

I love this school!!!! From the amazing administrators, teachers, and every single staff member... They love kids, have high academic rigor, and work diligently for every student. I have two children there now and my third can't wait to attend. I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. I am valued as a parent, communication is abundant and I know my kids are safe and happy there. We are so blessed by North Joshua Elementary School!

My son has been at this school for three years now and I cannot say enough good things about it! The kids are actively engaged and challenged each day. The PTO is outstanding and works extremely hard to provide as many resources as possible to their teachers and students. North Joshua Elementary is an outstanding school!!

Great school!!! I don't think we could find another school like this elsewhere. The teachers are great, dedicated people who love what they are doing. The participation of parents is huge and I believe that makes a huge difference from other schools. Can not say enough about NJE

My girls have attended NJE since the 1st and 2nd grades. We bought our house specifically so our girls could attend this campus. I believe it has been the best decision we have made as parents to ensure their academic success. The principal, vice-principal and every teacher have raised the bar and set their expectations higher and the students respond accordingly. Thank you NJE!

This is a great school. The Principal and the staff really care about the kids and their education. Any time I had a issue or concern it was addressed and options prevented and implemented. So far it has been a great experience.

When I was hired as a teacher, the principal mentioned during the interview process that if I was hired on it would be the best place I had ever worked, but also the hardest place to work. She was right. It is by far the best campus I have ever had the pleasure to work at. The campus atmosphere is one that exudes success from the minute you walk in the door. It is indeed the hardest place to work because the staff is dedicated to doing whatever it takes to help the kids experience success. If it means giving up conference periods, tutoring for many hours, or writing positive notes home, each teacher does their part to contribute to the quality of the campus & successful student performance.

I have three children who have attended this school for the last six years, and from kindergarten thru the fifth grade, everyone of their teachers have had a positive influence on my girls, been an outstanding role model, and went above and beyond to insure that my children get a high quality education. My girls love going to school and what parent could ask for more?

This school is great. The administration is first rate. The teachers are experienced and caring. I believe children who attend this school will have a advantage, and be well prepared when they move up to middle school. This school also is excellent for any child who may have a disableity, they go above and beyond to fufill any need that the child or parent may have. My hats off to them!

I love this school. The teachers are great [and] I love the fact that the teachers, and even the principals will go outside and play kickball with these kids. All of my teachers in elementary were too stuffy to do that.
