Canton Elementary School is one of the best schools because of it's excellent principal, faculty, and schedule. They provide excellent services and are continually upgrading their communications with faculty, parents, and others. Their state rating of exemplary says enough for itself about the kind of curriculum that is presented and students' results. They are always promoting the students with a SOAR LIKE AN EAGLE program to reward their students. Great School? Yes, CES is the best!

We just completed our first year in Canton Elementary School and had a great experience. Mrs. Turner is now teaching Kindergarten, and she is thoughtful, caring and very skilled. Mrs. Lamar is an excellent principal who strives to know and reach out to each child! We were all blessed by this school. The greatest challenges to this school are the same at nearly all public schools ~ fewer teachers or aides than are probably needed. But the leadership has done a fine job balancing.

Great potential, poor leadership. Some wonderful teachers (I highly recommend Mrs. Turner for Pre-K and Mrs. Randall for 1st) and some absolutely awful ones. The therapist, Mrs. Day, is amazing. The gifted and talented program is lacking. Amount of fun for kids vastly depends on teacher.

This is a wonderful school. The entire faculty is so helpful and patient with the children. The early years of a childs education is the most important and I am forever indebted for the solid foundation that Canton Elemtary has given my daughter.

We moved here from Arlington. I was a little concerned about the quality of a smaller school. I had nothing to worry about! We love this school. The teachers are great.

About the tests

Texas uses Accountability Ratings to indicate the overall performance of each school and district. Schools and districts rated under standard accountability procedures are designated as Exemplary, Recognized, Academically Acceptable or Academically Unacceptable. Schools and districts rated under alternative education accountability (AEA) procedures are designated as either AEA: Academically Acceptable or AEA: Academically Unacceptable.
