Waterford Oaks Elementary School

I agree with all the parents who say they are very disappointed. My son has only been going since the fall this year, and he doesn't like it. The teacher he has seems nice, but I keep having to go up there and we have had too many incidents that shouldn't have happened. We will be moving in a month and I can't wait, I know of Dallas schools that are great, you would think that a small school like this one would be even better.Very disappointed about this school.

My son has been in this school for 5 years and his teachers have always been great, but I am disppointed in the lack of communication from the principal when a problem does arise. My son will finish out here in 4th grade only because "it's better the devil you know..."

My daughter had been in Waterford Oaks for 5 years and she loved. She is in 4th grade now and this is her last year at the school, we just hope for for her next school to be as good as Waterford Oaks.

Waterford Oaks Elementary has a TEA rating of Exemplary! The school is one of the best kept secrets in Cedar Hill.

I am so impressed with the orgaization of the staff at this school. This is my daughter's second year and she loves it. So far she has had 2 fabulous teachers! I fell so safe and comfortable sending her to this school every day. All of the staff truly love what they do!

Awesome school! I love it!

It isn't just the school it is the district. These schools are gutter schools. The kids are out of control and the teachers can't handle it. My child will not be going there next year.

I believe there are still somethings to work on. Providing more attention to our children on a one on one are a smaller class rooms would help.

This school unfortunately isn't the greatest. They don't pay their teachers enough and that forces the lack of dedication that the teachers give their students.

Waterford Oaks is a great school. The teachers are attentive to the needs of the students and the staff is warm and friendly.

The teachers and staff at this school are wonderful. Music, art, and p.e. are built into the curriculum. Not much in the way of clubs and other extracurricular activities. Great PTA!

While my experience with Waterford Oaks Elementary has been brief, a couple of issue bother me. #1 - My child is in Kindergarten and they are not on an agressive enough level for reading. My child transferred from a private institution and it is as if my child has gone backwards and is bored. #2 - There is not enough parent interaction from the teacher. I expect some type of written evaluation per week on how my child is progressing on things that we can work on together at home and I do not have that. Overall, my experience has been a little disappointing and my child will not be enrolled here in the next year.

I've seen nothing but order and structure since my son began attending this school. The staff is attentive, concerned, and responsive. I think that no matter what school a child attends, parents must always remain involved to ensure their kids receive special attention if needed. If a child is not being challenged, it's our responsibility as parents to see to it that the school is aware of our child's needs and then work together with the school to see to it that those needs are met. We cannot sit back and blame the school. So far Waterford Oaks' staff has been nothing but attentive and responsive to my son, his issues, and his challenges.
