I think the school should offer more programs for children with special needs instead of letting them sit on the sideline. Get a counselor who has a little bit more knowledge on the subject of 'Special Needs Children'. They (the teachers) do not seem to understand that 'Negative remarks' no matter how meaningless it is to them (the teachers), stays with the child for a Very long time and is very hard for the child to get over it. Children have been taught to believe in teachers and what they say to be true.
My youngest daughter attended JWI for 2 years. The principal was the same one that she had while attending elementary school in the same district. While she was at JWI, she grew leaps and bounds academically and socially!! The teachers and staff at this school are very caring and friendly...My child was safe, secure, and successful!! I can't say enough good things about JWI. I recommend it without reservation!!
Maybe new staff will bring Joe Wilson back to what a school should be, there is still hope. But if not then parents should think again before enrolling their child there. They have not 'Skills' when it comes to children with special needs.
