Although parent involvement is great, the principal is dreadful. There is high teacher turnover at this school due to the principals tactics. The only thing saving my rating to average (I moved form the area) is the community and teachers. The principal needs to retire!
Teachers & staff are always there to greet you with a warm smile... From my child - my teacher rocks!
The teachers are awesome !
I love the wonderful teachers at Deer Creek!
We love this school. Great community. Our kids are thriving there. Seems well organized and caring.
Unfortunately The school principal is to worried about being friends with her teachers and not following through with parents concerns when teachers act innapropriate. A lot of good teachers have left this school due to administration.
Other than the close-minded and clique-ish parents that try to dominate all school activities, we love Deer Creek. My 'special needs' child and my 'typically developing' child have both received what I feel is a top-notch education.
Deer Creek has been a truly wonderful school. All the teachers and administrators empower the kids to lear. They don't overstress the kids for tests, rather they use great teachers who work with parents to help their kids. They truly understand that parents send their best to the schools and the teachers and principals understand this. If any issues arrive they look to solve the issues instead of laying blame on the kids or their parents. There is no 'circle the wagon' mentality. We are happy to have our son in this school with great people teaching great things!
It's just too populated...overcrowded classrooms, lunch rooms, and playgrounds. Could be a good school, but principal seems to be more of a politician than caring. Too much teacher time dedicated to those 2 or 3 'special needs' kids - regular kids don't get proper attention. 3rd grade class rooms are in trailers.
We have only been moderately happy with the school. The principal and assistant prinicipal seem friendly but insincere. PTA is good and has tried to make the school a better place. If administration was better I feel the school would be better.
