Great school, I notice my daughter's expanded vocabulary and change of character. This school is 'Recognized'
My two boys attend this school and i have never had any problems, and i feel my kids are secure
I know the teachers try hard on this campus. Unfortunately, there is way too much emphasis in passing the TAKS. While I know it is a very important mandated test for ALL students to pass....pulling students from different classes to strenthen in one area weakens their grades and confidence in other classes. Some students are going from failing one area, and making straight A's & B's......to struggling to pass all classes. I feel there needs to be a reform & a different approach in helping these students. I know there are no easy answers...it is simply my opinion. And I agree with needing more extra-curricular activities. Giving these students other opportunities to enjoy themselves will help them relax after straining to master test skills!!!!!!
There were many teachers at this school who were very invovled with the students and made school fun for my child. There were two teachers in particular - Mrs. Stacey Evans and Mrs. Cheryl Childs. They were the topic of our dinner discussion every night. I love knowing that my child is enjoying school. These two teachers made me feel secure that she did. The only thing I did not like at Hamblen is that there are no extra curricular activities unless your child is in ROTC.
