I have lived in Clarksville all my life and the problem is not in the school but in the household. There is no parenting going on and education is not stressed in the household. The school has a wonderful, caring group of teachers who try really hard to instill a good work ethic in the students but if it is not stressed at home the teachers can't make these kids learn. We need to stop blaming the school system for everything and put blame where it is due. If the makeup of the school was majority white and stats were the same we would not be hearing about it. Then again this is the town we live in. Beleive me we have kids who are very capable but its going to take parents working with teachers to make a change as well as tough discipline.
The unprofessional 'leadership' at Clarksville Elementary is shocking. I highly recommend that parents do not enroll their children at this school, or they demand higher standards of safety and education. Parent envolvement is encouraging.
