We value being partnered with and communicated with freely. The atmosphere those provide towards giving our kids a challenging and character building environment in which to learn is a gift.

Supports LD students: Strongly disagree

Covenant told me my daughter would fit in better at a different school. They were right. She is now thriving and is on the honor roll at a private school that is very strong academically. Thank you, Covenant for sending us to a better school! By the way, my daughter is biracial. Coincidence? No.

My daughter went to CCA for 6 years and we were miserable there. We had a couple of good teachers in the elementary school, but the rest of them were terrible! I even took some of my concerns to the administration but nothing was done. The culture at the school is one where they think they are superior to everyone else. This has been amusing to me because we transferred my daughter to a bigger and more established private Christian school and have been very happy there. The tuition at our new school costs the same as Covrnant, but the people there are real. No superior attitudes. Covenant prides itself in leading the kids down with homework. This doesn't necessarily prepare them for college. Good study habits will prepare them for college far more than giving a second grader 2 hours of homework every night.

The homework load is incredible, and unbearable. Children have NO time to do anything but homework, and often cannot complete assignments working from 4-10pm or later and weekends. This is a common complaint and we were warned by former student parents, but were also told by administrators they had made changes to make it more accommodating. Don't believe it. This is an intensive education with some fantastic teachers, and a few poor ones. If the student does not start at CCA early in their education process, they better hang on for a very rough ride to get up to speed on Latin, Logic and advanced mathematics...all move very fast. The overall student population is of high quality children, with parents that are brought together by their belief in traditional education, values and God. If your child gets sick or misses a day, get ready for a tsunami of work you probably have not seen since college. Good school, but the sacrifices on your children's time will be enormous! Some teachers care and are fully engaged, others (a few), are throwing assignments at the kids with little or no instruction. The good: the kids, some teachers and the faith based education (genuine). The bad: the work-load, merciless demands, some teachers, the cost, and did I say? The load. There are bullies everywhere, just fewer here given their structure. They would not knowingly tolerate bullying behavior--they'll kick them out. Something worth understanding: the Classical Education Model; look it up and understand it because it is different than traditional schooling. Get in early, or be prepared to buckle down hard and watch your kids do homework day and night. Many parents commenting on here have had their kids in from an early age, and that's a very important fact; they have been exposed to a unique process and have trained in the CCA methodology. If a student struggles, they can, have been, and will be released or kicked out. The school has high academic standards.

Handles bullying effectively: Neutral

I am not aware of any bullying since I am new this year and I have not witnessed any myself or been told by my daughter it exists at this school.

Supports LD students: Neutral

I just don't know about this one....

Effective school leaders: Strongly agree

Leadership starts from the top down and it shines thru the Headmaster, Admissions, the administrative staff and the teachers and the teachers encourage the students to step into becoming the Leader they were created to be. They treat the students as young adults and expect them to be responsible, charitable, courteous and giving in all areas of their life. They train students how to be leaders and it starts with them setting the example and creating a culture of Leadership. I love the RHETORIC school as I feel like my daughter is being trained to be a Leader for her generation. If you want your son or daughter to take on Leadership roles and be able to be mentored and coached by teachers who embrace Leadership and strive to model it for their students....this is the place to be....

Develops character: Strongly agree

They constantly give the students opportunities to step up and become the Leaders God has called them to be. They set proper expectations and expect the students to walk their walk and talk their talk. They also act with the Integrity, Compassion and Respect that they intend for the students to display so they are setting an example of these qualities so the students can follow. This school believes in making sure every student is set up to win by offering merit points and rewards students who show great character. It is a phenomenal place to send your kids if you want to train them from the inside out...they care about the heart of the kids first....

Teacher effectiveness: Strongly agree

- a
The teachers CARE about the students and are willing to offer support, encouragement, a listening ear and want them to be successful. They set the students up to win in all areas of their life. They especially CARE about their spiritual growth and their servant's heart and offer opportunities for them to engage in those areas quite often. They TRULY want what is best for the students and they keep the parents informed as well too...

Amount of homework: Strongly agree

- a
They are preparing them for college and the students need to be ready to face what is in their future. This is a TRUE COLLEGE PREP school so homework is a necessity to learning and growing as a student....
