Seashore is great. The communication between the school and parents is outstanding. One always knows what is going on. The classroom size is a dream. You get to know your kids teacher well. Each child is given the attention they need. A great environment!
SLC Is by far the best school around. I have two children in SLC and I couldn't be happier. The staff really care about each student. They take the time to get to know each student. The parent involvement is like nothing I've even seen before. They are VERY involved and they help the school run. As a parent I HIGHLY recommend SLC. They will take extra time out to help a student in need. They have spent countless hours with my children trying to catch them up from a previous school. To my family it's not just a school my children go to, they are our family!
I have never felt like more like family at any other school than I do when I am involved with this school.
Seashore is a high-quality school with energetic and enthusiastic teachers and dedicated administration. The children love their school because they are involved in the decision-making process. Academics are high as the bar is raised to meet each individual's needs. It is a great family environment for everyone.
There are some good things going on at SLC. Parental involvement is good and the classes are small. It is a concern that he school advertises as public, but checks behavior records before allowing students to enter.
I feel sad to see a disgrunteled parent has made the decision to leave poor feed back for such a wonderful school. Both of my boys attend Seashore. It is true we have a higher turn over for teachers but I attribute that to our inability to offer competative pay. I will comend them for their ability to seek out and employ staff who truely love an active hands on family oriented work environment. If I could improve one thing about Seashore it would be the compensation/salary packages. With that said, let me stress the quality of over all child development taking place. Seashore promotes exceptional growth in the cognintive as well as the social development of children, with an emphasis on integrity, high morals and work habbits. They engage and intrigue the children through hands on learning through the use of concrete and enivonrmental tools.
I think the two so called leaders for this school need more schooling to learn how to treat the kids that attend. They preach that SeaShore is one of the best school's in the area but it is far from it. Most of the teachers dont stay longer than a year because of the leadership that the school has. And dont be a teacher and have your kids go there too... If your child gets on the bad list even the first day of school then that is the way he or she is looked at the rest of the year, the child is treated differently and is never given the chance to do better or improve 'your child is a bad actor'. I think the school could be a great school if they would replace the so called co-directors! Sorry for the bad news but that is the way it is. Parent
Amazing School; HIGH Parental participation, students learn at their own pace, but are supported and encouraged to excel. Excellent music program for all students K-6, with student-produced musical in the Spring. Flexibility and attitudes of teachers and administration is outstanding. I have two daughters, one graduated 2 years ago and moved immediately into the gifted program at traditional junior high school, one will graduate next year and move to the new expanded charter middle school. Whew! I wish they could stay with this group of teachers and administrators forever - they're getting it right for our kids - preparing them for future excellence, and remembering the 'whole child' at the same time.
We have three children in the school and could not be happier. The small class sizes, parental involvement, and individualized instruction can't be found anywhere else. Their incredible test scores show that it works. This is a public school - no tuition. But, it is often full and you have to register in March prior to school year for best shot of getting in.
Small school - 205 kids. Rated Exemplary or Recognized every year for past 10 years. Kindergarten classes have 16 kids; 5th grade 20; other classes have 18. In 2007, they will open a middle school which will have classes of 25. Lots of parental involvement. Great environment and learning experience.
