West Oso has a wonderful program for student success. Many of the students do not have the economic means and supports at home that are needed to be rising stars. Parents work to make ends meet and often times that means while the student is home and the parent is working. West Oso offers parents finacial supports such as educating them on skills their student may need, community gatherings, financial supports for free breakfast and lunch, reduced cost afterschool care through the park and rec department and tutorials for lower performing students available per individualized educational need to help obtain needed educational skill for NCLB. This district appears to be on the right track for getting the job done successfully. Their success has been recognized.
