Newport Elemntary is a great school. It is for 3rd and 4th grade students. My son just finished Newport and he loved it and his teachers were awesome. The principal is wonderful and the school has a calm, caring atmosphere.
Mr. Joseph, is Dr. Hendricks lacky and is typical of the pricipals of Crosby Schools System. The school district should have a major shake up. It is time for the school board to wake up and make the changes. Send the lacky's of Dr Hendricks walking and put someone in place that really has the kids best interest at heart.
As a parent with a child at Newport I do feel she is receiving a nice education while being taught by a well educated and child friendly teacher. The staff is friendly and helpful. The principal could be more visitor friendly and this school does not have the principal or other staff greet the students outside for safety and comfort. The education is your child's limit.
Newport is an Excellent School. Mr. Joseph and the teachers are wonderful. Unfortunately, they are a group you don't see much of anymore - a group of professionals who love their jobs; are excited about teaching; love our children; are serious about being a positive influence in our children's lives and meeting the individual needs of each child. The staff's involvement with the parents is wonderful and the staff does a great job motivating the children.
