My kids have been going here for 3 yrs now. The building on the playground side is gross and always dirty. It is an apartment building so strange people live there and walk around all the time. The bathrooms are always nasty. Nothing looks safe or clean anymore. The playground has had a big hole in it all year, so my kids never got to play on it one time. They told us it would be fixed back at the start of the year. Also, they have been saying for the last 3 years that the new school building was coming soon. That's part of why I have stayed so long. Every year they say they will have it next year. I was excited when they starting the building across the street and they have been telling us that it was going to be the new school. But I just heard from a lady in the office that the building wasn't the school and it wasn't even part of the school. It's a youth center and there wont be any classrooms inside! They keep lying to us. I wont be back again next year. Don't take your kids here, its not a safe place.

I am a first year parent for this school and after reading the reviews I can appreciate the honesty from a negative side as well as a positive side. If all the reviews were great or all bad then that would deter me from enrolling in this school because no school is perfect. We all can make improvements but it takes a group effort meaning Teachers, Principal, Students, and Parents. Discipline is the responsibility of the parent but the staff must also possess patience and empathy and understand that it will not change over night. Adults have a hard time changing themselves over night. It is great that the tuition is free but that should be irrelevant when searching schools, just because the school fits your pocket doesn't mean it fits your child and that should be what's most important. I don't think teaching is a SERVICE instead its a process that is used to educate OUR children. It blows my mind to know that a Pre-K was suspended on the second day of entering a new school. That is not an action that punishes or teaches the parent it actually effects the student who is still learning to understand the world. If that child was your Pre-K how would you honestly feel?

Good school this year, new principal and some new teachers, they are trying a new system in running the school this year. I love that they have Pre-k 3 & 4 all day for half day daycare and half day school for FREE is great. It is not always the school and its staff job to raise or correct a child, the parents must also be involved and follow the school rules as well. If a child does as he pleases at home and the parents allow him then it's not the schools job to teach them good attitude and proper Etiquette. I m grateful my child was accepted into PreK3 and I know he can get out of line at times so I have been working with him at home and have spoken with his teachers as well. The school has been growing and hopefully the change will help it grow more. Good to know that this school is available at no cost and if a parent feels they have bad service then maybe you should take your child to a private school where you actually pay money

I rate this school two stars because they have brought in a new principal and staff for the 2011-2012 school year. A pre-K student should not be wrote up on the first day, nor suspended on the second day of school from being a pre-K student. If so, the parents of that child should be notify of that write up on that day. That child is still in his/her stages of adapting to their NEW environment. I don't think they understand that this school also has preschoolers attending as well as older kids. The school is meant to teach the younger kids how to be a better student in the school environment. It does not benefit the children to be sent home as punishment for their undeveloped attitude and ways. There should be more structure and time allowed for disciplinary action with students, before resulting to suspension. Pre-K students need more attention then what has been shown this year. My kids have been attending this school for the last three years and I have never seen this type of discipline so yearly in the school year. He and some of the new staff make the school look bad. Wow, did my money pay for this bad service? (REFUND PLEASE!)

I'm an Aunt of a student... Well I have to say that this school is a breathe of fresh air. My niece has attended this school for 2 years now, so I have come to learn somewhat about it. She has great teachers who actually pay attention tot he behavior of the students. if they see the performance of the children changing they will take steps to make the child better and shine. Mr. Rubio and Mrs. Bullard are two awesome teachers. At first I was hesitant, but after seeing the way the staff & teachers love what they do, I am actually considering enrolling my 3.5 year old. This school is religious based and teaches dual language. I enjoyed the 2010-2011 Kindergarden class graduation which really ignited my fuel for information. The speaker spoke with such enthusiasm, and to see there was a wide range of ethnicity's that make up this school made it even better. Enrollment is up, as I was told, and there maybe a lottery. I look forward to seeing where this school goes.

This school has the potential to be a very good school. The unfortunate thing is that they do not have the space nor the adequate staff to handle the amount of kids that attend there. Most of the staff i know personally and my 2 younger kids went there last year and they loved, and still do for that matter, the teachers that they had. My concern is that they might continue to take kids in when they do not have the space or the staff to adequately handle all the kids.

Reconciliation Academy is the Charter School in Dallas to attend! Thought this is their second year; Administration, Staff & Faculty alike love their jobs and especially the kids. I am enrolling my child there again. I would recommend anyone near and far alike to enroll their child at Reconciliation Academy and also to show suppor by volunteering during the school year.
