The energy, enthusiasm and joy flow freely from kids who are supported, encouraged and guided to develop a talent they have chosen to pursue.

Wow ... the energy level ... the enthusiasm ... the programs ... the excitement .... My son jumps out of bed in the morning because he is excited to get to school. Why can't all schools be like this!

My daughter is learning from some of the best music instructors around with plenty of opportunities to perform inside and outside the classroom. She and her fellow students are passionately pursuing their chosen art in a brand new state-of the-art high school in the brand new Dallas Performing Arts District. Most of all, she's very happy at Booker T Washington PVA. So, what's not to like?!

I have worked as a public school educator in three different districts, and at four different grade levels the past 15 years; the students, administration, faculty and staff at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts are incomparable! We have attained and earned a level of academic and artistic success that is beyond exemplary. Teaching at BTWHSPVA is not a job, it is a wonderful experience in sharing and active engagement in the process of learning!! Yours in Education, Mr. Brown

From the very first day, my son felt at home here. With all of the creative minds, artistic opportunities, and funky spirit, the atmosphere encourages such exploration and inspiration that the kids can't help but succeed! Thank you BTWHSPVA!

BTWHSPVA is a school where our kids are encouraged and supported to be who they are, and to powerfully step into their talents and abilities through both the arts and through academics. It's a place where the kids, the teachers and even the parents want to be.

As a parent of four grads, grandparent of a current freshman and member of the school's Advisory Board, I have had many years of volunteer experience with teachers, administration and students. This is a great school dedicated not only to perfecting the talents of the individual student, but also to creating an appreciation of the arts. The administration emphasizes integration of arts into academic curriculum. Within the school is an accepting envirionment that nurtures young artists and teaches valuable life lessons regarding acceptance and respect. The school is nationally recognized for its many award-winning performing students and visual artists. Every year millions of scholarship dollars are awarded to Booker T. Washington graduates. In 2001 the Advisory Board embarked on an unprecedented private/public partnerhip and capital campaign in 2001 to build a new facility adjacent to the original historic school building. In 2007 the new school was opened and is located in the heart of the Dallas Arts District with performance centers and museums within walking distance. Booker T. Washington is our family's favorite school as evidenced by the fact that we now have a second-generation student attending!

I love the teachers, the environment downtown, the freedom for students to be themselves, the level of artistic training, the commitment of administration, the beautiful new building, the opportunities after school and most of all the way my children don't want to miss a day for any reason!! They want to go to school and do their best! I am so grateful for Booker T!!!!

It has an incredibly strong academic program and the best art teachers in the Dallas Independent School District.

Booker T. Washington HSPVA has a unique committment to their student's future in the arts. We looked at many schools for our daughter before allowing her to audition for BTW. No where else did teachers come out of their classrooms to welcome us and explain their passion for the arts and for helping students realize their dreams. So many of the teachers were in these same student's shoes themselves and their desire to nurture tomorrow's artists is nothing short of extraordinary. I wish I had attended a school like BTW when I was in high school...!
