Special education program details BFMS faculty employ inclusive teaching techniques and design learning experiences that allow all scholars, including those who have special educational needs. Scholars are provided with opportunities to achieve these goals by participating in carefully constructed differentiated teaching strategies designed to maximize scholars’ potential and also allow the scholar to demonstrate learning in different ways.

English Language Learner program details BFMS supports scholars with Limited English Proficiency in language acquisition by: implementing reading and writing strategies across the curriculum; providing small group instruction with a Highly Qualified English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher; and providing sheltered instruction in all classes to scaffold acquisition of vocabulary and concepts central to learning by providing visual cues, collaborative learning experiences and consistent assessment of prior knowledge.
