I have a First Grader who moved here from Evergreen, Colorado. The school, the teachers and the parents are completely involved and forward thinking, preparing the 1st graders on a social, intellectual and pariticiipatory level. I am amazed how well they are doing in Mathematics, English, spelling and reading, Science and PE. Thank You!

Teachers and parental involvement make UP an exceptional elementary school. We have been there for 4 years and we are very happy with the education our child is receiving.

Great teachers, great parental involvement. Good students. Math program is not preparing kids for middle school; principal is not a good leader.

We have attended U.P. Elementary for 4 years and have found it to be a wonderful and enriching place of learning. The TAG program is superior as well as extracurricular activities.( destination imagination, chess, yearbook etc.)Parent involvement is extremely high as well and there is a welcome attitude towards parents.

In 2010-2011, the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) was used to test students in reading in grades 3 through 9; in writing in grades 4 and 7; in English language arts in grades 10 and 11; in mathematics in grades 3 through 11; in science in grades 5, 8, 10 and 11; and in social studies in grades 8, 10 and 11. TAKS is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Texas. The grade 11 Exit Level TAKS is a high school graduation requirement. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.
