I wholeheartedly disagree with the previous reviews. Not only is there a significant number of parents that volunteer their time, there IS an on-site after school program. Two of our children have not only passed all of their TAKS tests at this school by high margins, my son received a 100% on his math TAKS last year. Both of my children were commended on their other TAKS. This school has a tremendous faculty that cares about these kids and their families. This is an extended family to us, and to all of the other students. We have lived all over the world and have sent our children to many different types of schools, and they have never been happier than they are at SVE. The nurse at this school have won an award from the state for her work against childhood obesity. The principal greets each child by names with a smile in the mornings, and sends them home with a smile in the afternoon. Everyone from the reading specialists to the office staff gives 110% every day. y kids should go to another less diverse school, yet I drive them all the way to SVE because there is no other school to us. They are thriving and we will be devastated the day they graduate and have to move on.

My child has not enjoyed his experience at this school. There is an imbalance in class sizes. There is very little parent participation in both class and school activities.
