I went to this school. As a parent considering putting her children in private school I would not put them here. I've heard so many parents complain about the way they and their children are treated. Most times I don't really go by rumors BUT the fact that even the staff doesn't want to send their kids there makes me believe that there's good reason. There's too much politics involved. For being a Catholic Christian school it doesn't seem to be very Christian.

My daughter has been going to SCS for 5 years, my son for 2 year and they both LOVE it! They both display respect, manners, discipline and are conscientious of anothers' feelings. The teachers are great and although they may not get paid much, they enjoy teaching and do it well. My husband and I enjoy the tight knit family environment and feel safe knowing our kids are safe, learning, and having fun! I'd recommend SCS to any parent looking for a great school for their child. No problems or complaints here and we've been there 5 years. :)

St. Cecilia is a wonderful school. My child is loved and is being well educated and protected. She speaks freely about God and I know this is due to her receiving religious education at school. If you'd like a religious education for your child... you owe it to yourself to check out St. Cecilia's. It is the 'invisible jewel' of Oak Cliff, and they happen to be the least expensive Catholic school in the area. See their website http://www.stceciliacatholic.org/ to check out their low tuition and all that is offered... from an awesome Computer Program, Robotics, Web Publishing, Choir, Sports, Cheerleading, Drama Club, Scouting, Student Council... you name it and St. Cecilia has it. We also have a full cafeteria serving great hot meals each day, and a full size Gym that is currently being renovated. Awesome deal and great parents... you gotta check them out! Go Bulldogs!

St. Cecilia is exceptional. Although, we have had a new principal this last year which did not do a very good job! I am seeking else where as long as this principal is at St. Cecilia. She has run most of the teachers out of the school for next year 2005-2006.

Very structured environment. Music, PE, technology & sports offered. Art not emphasised. Parents quite involved. Good communication between parents and teachers.

Being a current student of education and a graduate from St. Cecilia the feedback from me is realistic. Being able to know all the students in the school was great! Also, the classes were small and many friendships with peers can be established. I encourage for a parent to keep their child at this school for their whole PreK-8 education, that way he or she will grow up with the same students all their careers. I still keep in contact with half of my graduating 8th grade class. The teachers are great and they know when to intervene when help is needed. The open houses are also great for parents to get involved with.

The teachers at St. Cecila care a great deal about every student's education. You can tell by just talking with them. Being a smaller school adds to the great education. The teacher/student ratio is good. I think it's great that the teachers all know every child's name in the school.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
