Christ the King

We are new to Christ the King this year and everyone has been so nice. The teachers are great and other parents have gone out of their way to make us feel welcome. We've had a wonderful experience and look forward to many great years at Christ the King!

Great school, they have made a conscious effort to improve things in 2010 through a survey they made. 3rd grade is a huge leap and most kids if not all have a lot of anxiety/worry over what teacher they will get because one of them is known to be respectful and polite and the other one was bashed by most parents in the survey and is still there. If you are lucky your kids will be fine but if not, they may struggle because the second teacher mentioned counts things wrong even when they deserve partial credit. 90% of mothers I know dislike her ways, so a few that I know left the school for this reason, now why is this teacher still here? Ask the principal, she has received plenty of complaints. Other teachers are average and a few are excellent, a high turnover due to pregnancies and such, but the seasoned ones are the best. Cafeteria food could be better, kids eat pizza and french fries all the time, someone should guide them as far as their nutritional intake. It's much better organized in 2010 than it was in previous years. Hopefully the new Registrar, a much younger lady will bring a different approach and modernize some aspects of the school.

Fabulous school, great parent involvement and great academics. The sense of community is stong here as well.

This year has been a beating at CKS. They are unable or unwilling to provide accomodations for special needs, this after they referred us to be tested for learning differences. My other child has had no problems at all and enjoys the school. THe teacher admit that this is a feeder school for Jesuit and Ursuline and that is their goal to get the kids into Ursuline and Jesuit. If your child has learning differences this school is not for you.

My child had a great experience my first year at Christ the King. Everyone was super nice. The next year was the same. This last year I did not enjoy my child attending because she was bullied a bit. She loves the staff, but seems to have a bit of a had time with the other students. She has been challenged by the curriculem, except in reading.

My kids really enjoy going to school here. The middle school needs improvement, but the lower school can't be beat.

I'm a CKS grad now in high school, and sometimes i miss going here. I built many lasting friendships at this school. The teachers were great, whom i probably miss the most.

This is a great K-8 private Catholic school. The faculty and staff are there because they want to be - they are genuine and loving. This is not an 'easy' school - it challenges the kids a great deal at the same time as supporting each child's individual learning needs. Wonderful parent involvement here. Extracurricular activities seem to be plenty. All in all a great community to be a part of.
