Dallas Lutheran has provided a very good education for my son while giving him the opportunity to participate in all sports for a "sports minded" kid. He feels successful and apart of a good organization.

I am a parent of a former student. Would not recommend. Very small. Teachers are not professional. If you are not an athlete - the coaches will bully your child. I did not see Christ like behavior at this school.

There are a few good good things like the school spirit and school events but that is all. Besides the fact that the academics are not challenging, it is just sad that I hated my year there. I begged my parents to leave. Thank goodness I left. The Teachers were nice but they did not look out for any students well-being. So many kids in my grade have serious issues with either bullying, disorders, and an all around lazy attitude. Of course everyone has issues but this school was full of them. If you are not a school athlete and you don't drink good luck making friends. Some people enjoy their experience sure, but I found that people at public school were more Christ-like than anyone at Lutheran. I'm sorry I hope they improve. The teachers can not make the kids be more respectful but they could at least monitor them better and encourage finding strength in God - not drugs or pride.

This is a student's point of view who used to go hear. I left this school because it didn't help prepare me for collage and their way of helping you doesn't work. This school made me so miserable that I begged my mom to take me out and go to another school. I'm currently going to a new school called Bending Oaks and It's so much better than Dallas Lutheran. I have been learning more stuff and use full things at things at this school. I highly recommend it for all students.

The teachers and staff of Dallas Lutheran know the students by name and are dedicated to helping them achieve their goals. I highly recommend DLS to parents who want to prepare their son or daughter for college as well as teach them the importance of community service and family commitments. Dallas Lutheran is a refreshing change to other private schools in Dallas. The class size is small and allows for better communication between teachers, students and parents. Students and teachers use iPads as part of the school curriculum. Dallas Lutheran provides a wonderful positive environment for learning and succeeding.

Having had children in four private Christian schools and Park Cities public, we can attest that Dallas Lutheran does an incredible job of getting students into colleges of their choice and allows them to obtain college credit for classes. Teachers and students use iPads with integrated technology. Some subjects are "Flipped" classrooms with youtube lessons, so students may access lectures 24/7, while most written problems are completed in class the following day. This cutting-edge technique allows more one-on-one time with students and opportunity for more questions, to promote mastery of topics. The infrastructure to insure success of the students is exceptional, and we've never found such supportive teachers. Kids graduating from DL are undoubtedly prepared for college, but lack being burned-out, stressed-out, and anxiety-ridden before they enter adulthood. The pace allows families to enjoy life or a hobby outside of school without forfeiting their precious time, never to be recovered. That aspect alone has been life-changing for us. Our kids are much happier, healthier, and we are all more rested. Kids can recover their childhood and enjoy it while they still can!

We have since moved on to another school from DL, and we are very glad we did. DL has an extremely loyal group of parents who send all their children here year after year, so the great reviews here make sense. However, we personally found the academics to be inferior - absolutely not challenging and lackluster. I'm sure many of the parents at DL have children who made excellent grades and everyone is happy. The problem is it is very easy to make excellent grades at this school, no matter what the student's abilities are. For some parents, that is enough. Most of the teachers at DL have been there forever, and there is very little innovation at the school. Also, the Christian aspect of the school is lacking. There are rather perfunctory chapels that most of the kids yawn through, and then very half-hearted offerings are taken. My daughter was surprised with the attitudes of many of the students and said the goings-on there were just like any urban high school. There were mission trips, but little day-to-day, classroom emphasis on one's faith. I think there are much better Christian schools for the money with much better academics and spiritual emphasis. DL parents won't agree!

My son and I choose this school for his High School. Although bright young man he needed to be challenged and at the time was not...He came from a traditional public school environment and upon entering DLS he found it to be different and difficult. After the first term he settled in with the help of a compassionate and dedicated staff. They helped and encouraged him to grow and learn how great he could be. He is now in his sophomore year in college and was been accepted in to Phi Theta Kappa honor society for completing his 4th semester with 4.0. His plans are to attend medical school upon completing his under grad. his comment to me this year was " I would have never been he without DLS" and the dedication and education they helped me with. Just a testimony to the faith based dedication and support at DLS...Best decision we ever made.

Our son has made huge progress at DLS and matured into an excellent student with the generous help of his teachers and the Talent Zone coaches. The sports are excellent as well. Very dedicated faculty! We feel blessed to be at DLS.

Our daughter is in her 3rd year in attendance at DLS. We are so pleased to have her in an environment of high academic standards. The teachers have high expectations, and are very supportive. Extracurricular activities, especially drama and voice options have engaged our daughter. The campus is small, but nice. The school requires community service activities, which I believe give the students an opportunity to learn how to serve others. We couldn't be more pleased and feel very blessed to have our daughter here. I highly recommend DLS to parents who want to provide a college prep atmosphere for their son or daughter.

Our daughter had an amazing middle school experience -- and that should mean a great deal as those are some of the most difficult years in school. Thanks DLS for what you do to not only educate but also nurture and care for our teens.

Dallas Lutheran School has been one of the best kept secrets in Dallas for over 30 years. The dedicated staff at DLS continues to go above and beyond what could ever be expected of them to serve the students who are priviledged to be a part of this excellent program.

I have nothing but good things to say about DLS. My son is a 7th grader completing his first year at the school and we have been impressed not only with the quality of education he is receiving, but with the relationship between the faculty and students. As a public school teacher, I can say that DLS is the school environment that all educators dream of: a great relationship with students in which the atmosphere of caring and trust fosters academic, social and character growth. I have also been impressed with the ease of communication with the faculty and their willingness to answer any questions which we may have. This is a great school with an incredible faculty. I hope that more families in the Dallas area hear about DLS and avail themselves of one of the best educational opportunities around.

The students at Dallas Lutheran have it all!! They have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities...AP classes, honors classes, academic competitions, athletics, drama, and music. But the best thing about Dallas Lutheran is their staff. The staff knows and appreciates each individual child as a unique person with their own strengths and weaknesses. When was the last time a teacher thanked you for the privilege of teaching your child?

We love DLS!!! Our sons have greatly enjoyed participating in Football, Baseball, and Track, and have received a great education from teachers who truly care for their students. DLS is a the best value in town for a strong Christian college prep education. Our older son is graduating this year and heading to Baylor. I strongly encourage you to check out DLS.

My son has been at DLS since 7th grade and will be going into his Junior year in 2011. I have a masters degree and in all my years of school I never once said "I can hardly wait to go back to school". That's my son's attitude every summer because this school is a loving, working and nuturing community of students and teachers that love where they are. It has been one of the brightest parts of all of our lives - the relationship that we have with this school.

This is a great private school that not many people know about. The teachers are outstanding and work so hard so make the kids feel special. The school doesn't do much advertising, so I want to get the word out that this is a place your child can strive in, feel special and is very affordable. Please consider this school. The class ratios are very small and the kids get individual attention.

I love this school. My daughter is completing her freshmen (and first year) at this school. It is a safe, nurturing, and challenging environment. The teachers, administrators, and staff are caring and know each student. They have great sports, too. I especially like their integrated tutoring center (Talent Zone) where students get exceptional one-on-one help. I also like the way the whole school is involved in community service. I can honestly say that I have never heard any parent say a bad word about this school. They are a well-kept secret in Dallas. We are even encouraging other parents we know to enroll their daughters here. I only wish I had found it sooner so I could have enrolled my daughter here in 7th grade and skipped the tumultuous junior high years in public school. One more thing: she had previously attended a different very expensive Dallas private school for 4 years. This school is better and some of the kids from that private school are at DLS now!

My son is in 7th grade at DLS and loves it. The support he gets from the staff is amazing and he has grown so much in his academics and faith while being there. Wonderful, supportive community full of enrichment activities for all students. Great curriculum and excellent teachers that are very involved with the students. It also has available an on- site program that helps students who need extra help - this program has really helped my son excel in school. My son is involved in many more activities than he was in his prior larger school and is much more confident. The sports programs are also phenomenal and they really do build men (and women) of character. This is a gem of a school!

We can't say enough about the wonderful christian teachers at Lutheran High. They do everything to make sure every child is successful. Two of our children have graduated from the school, and have gone on to be extremely successful in college. Because of the exceptional math program, our son is now a math major at Texas A&M. He was just given an award for top Junior Student of the College of Science. Also, our daughter is just finishing her 1st year of college at Mary Hardin Baylor. Thanks to the influence of her anatomy and biology teacher, she has chosen a school that fits her personality perfectly. Go Mrs. Krause!! We are so greatful for the influence the teachers have made on our kids. They will certainly be life long learners.

This is a great school, academically, socially, and for religion. The teacher to student ratio provides great direct interaction between the faculty and the kids. The administration is very approachable, and is focused on the success of the students. It has all the extracurricular activities, and with the school size, my daughter can participate and excel in anything she chooses. Additionally, my daughter has a learning difference, and the school works with us to ensure she gets the most out of her education. The faculty and the Talent Zone process is committed to finding the right ways to help your child learn. We are extremely pleased with the school, and look forward to the next couple of years at DLS.

Dallas Lutheran School is one of the best kept secrets in Dallas. In fact, perhaps my primary complaint is that the administration, teachers and parents are too modest and humble about the school and what its students accomplish while maintaining core principles and values. My daughter entered DLS as a middle school student, and both we and she were immediately taken by the degree of care and sincerity of the teachers and staff. DLS has been an academically strong yet nurturing environment for my middle schooler at a time where so many competing interests for her time (not all beneficial) are entering her world. Our middle schooler has had opportunities in athletics, academic competitions and music and theater that have given her a great deal of pride in accomplishment. Thanks to a forward-thinking DLS guidance counselor, she is already excited about the college experience. All of us have been grateful and excited at the blossoming of our daughter, which is attributable in part to the DLS. We highly recommend DLS to parents of middle and high school children who are seeking a faith-based educational experience for their child.

My daughters have grown into wonderful successful young women, having attended DL from 7th-12th. The teachers really KNOW the students as the individuals they are; our academics are challenging and students who struggle have a forum in which to strengthen their weaknesses (The Talent Zone). The student teacher ratio is low - no classes larger than 24, with average being around 18. The students have ownership of their education and their participation in extra-curriculars. They are an "open accepting" group (never perfect) but respectful and loving. I wouldn't have traded this experience for my kids for any place else.

We moved to Dallas from San Antonio, DLS provided a wonderful environment for my son to learn, make friends and feel a sense of community almost instantaneously. We are new to DLS and so far the teachers and principals are unbelievable. The MS principal "knows" Middle Schoolers, which is a gift. Everyone is so committed to the students. It is not for everyone, but if you want a Christian-centered education, with great role models for teachers and a place where they "walk the walk" and the parents are down-to-earth...check it out. You will not be disappointed!

What a value for a rounded upper school private education. One of Dallas' best kept secrets of value in private school upper education is Dallas Lutheran School Few parents in Dallas are aware of Lutheran High School's name change to Dallas Lutheran School a couple years ago. The change shows DLS' involvement with the community and focus on their student body. Classes start at 7th grade, taking students up through 12th, with a focus on three levels of diploma. DLS students not only excel in academics, but are stars and State-ranked in many of their division athletics. DLS offers a Christian-centered basis for the education of the students. The preparation for their college and adult lives is beyond comparison. My son, who is completing his first year at DLS as a 7th grader, has grown in study and social skills, as well as athletic ability and stamina.

Dallas Lutheran is a woderful small Diamond in the rough, It does not look like much from the outside,in fact it looks a little shabby. But I challenge you to let your child visit for a day meet the kids and the caring teachers and you will be sold. If what you are looking for is a good christian school that believes in educating the whole child.Check out DLS. The middle school prepares them for high school and one look at the wall of college acceptances and you will realize they have been well prepared for college. If you want a big school this is not for you ,but if your looking for small this is the place !!!

Dallas Lutheran has many assets and made junior high a good experience for my son. In my perception, the staff is remarkable in their dedication, but seriously overworked this last year. This school has a very strong study skills program for entering 7th graders and a truly impressive community service program (Beyond my Front Door) for the entire school.

Both of our children graduated from Dallas Lutheran School. Not only were they were well prepared for college, they were well prepared for the Christian life. Both were able to excel in sports and in fine arts. The teachers at Dallas Lutheran School truly care about their students. It is a Christ-centered school and that was the main reason that we chose it for our children.

When you have a child that says 'I love middle school', you know something very right is going on! Dallas Lutheran has made that usually rotten move from elementary to junior high as smooth as silk. My daughter is being challenged academically, but not buried under busy work. There's plenty to be involved in extracurricularly, and beneath it all is a solid, moral base that is so vital in the entitled world we live in. Their 'Beyond My Front Door' program has been life changing for these students as they go out quarterly to different agencies such as retirement homes, day care and school facilities, and other non profits to help out in any way needed. From building wheelchair ramps to helping in an Alzheimer's unit, this program is amazing. For a great 7th - 12th grade private Christian school education, don't miss Dallas Lutheran.
