My son and I choose this school for his High School. Although bright young man he needed to be challenged and at the time was not...He came from a traditional public school environment and upon entering DLS he found it to be different and difficult. After the first term he settled in with the help of a compassionate and dedicated staff. They helped and encouraged him to grow and learn how great he could be. He is now in his sophomore year in college and was been accepted in to Phi Theta Kappa honor society for completing his 4th semester with 4.0. His plans are to attend medical school upon completing his under grad. his comment to me this year was " I would have never been he without DLS" and the dedication and education they helped me with. Just a testimony to the faith based dedication and support at DLS...Best decision we ever made.

Our son has made huge progress at DLS and matured into an excellent student with the generous help of his teachers and the Talent Zone coaches. The sports are excellent as well. Very dedicated faculty! We feel blessed to be at DLS.

Our daughter is in her 3rd year in attendance at DLS. We are so pleased to have her in an environment of high academic standards. The teachers have high expectations, and are very supportive. Extracurricular activities, especially drama and voice options have engaged our daughter. The campus is small, but nice. The school requires community service activities, which I believe give the students an opportunity to learn how to serve others. We couldn't be more pleased and feel very blessed to have our daughter here. I highly recommend DLS to parents who want to provide a college prep atmosphere for their son or daughter.

Our daughter had an amazing middle school experience -- and that should mean a great deal as those are some of the most difficult years in school. Thanks DLS for what you do to not only educate but also nurture and care for our teens.

The teachers really want you to learn and help you. It's a small school but it's big enough to have all the opportunities of a large school.

Dallas Lutheran School has been one of the best kept secrets in Dallas for over 30 years. The dedicated staff at DLS continues to go above and beyond what could ever be expected of them to serve the students who are priviledged to be a part of this excellent program.

I have nothing but good things to say about DLS. My son is a 7th grader completing his first year at the school and we have been impressed not only with the quality of education he is receiving, but with the relationship between the faculty and students. As a public school teacher, I can say that DLS is the school environment that all educators dream of: a great relationship with students in which the atmosphere of caring and trust fosters academic, social and character growth. I have also been impressed with the ease of communication with the faculty and their willingness to answer any questions which we may have. This is a great school with an incredible faculty. I hope that more families in the Dallas area hear about DLS and avail themselves of one of the best educational opportunities around.

The students at Dallas Lutheran have it all!! They have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities...AP classes, honors classes, academic competitions, athletics, drama, and music. But the best thing about Dallas Lutheran is their staff. The staff knows and appreciates each individual child as a unique person with their own strengths and weaknesses. When was the last time a teacher thanked you for the privilege of teaching your child?

We love DLS!!! Our sons have greatly enjoyed participating in Football, Baseball, and Track, and have received a great education from teachers who truly care for their students. DLS is a the best value in town for a strong Christian college prep education. Our older son is graduating this year and heading to Baylor. I strongly encourage you to check out DLS.

My son has been at DLS since 7th grade and will be going into his Junior year in 2011. I have a masters degree and in all my years of school I never once said "I can hardly wait to go back to school". That's my son's attitude every summer because this school is a loving, working and nuturing community of students and teachers that love where they are. It has been one of the brightest parts of all of our lives - the relationship that we have with this school.

This is a great private school that not many people know about. The teachers are outstanding and work so hard so make the kids feel special. The school doesn't do much advertising, so I want to get the word out that this is a place your child can strive in, feel special and is very affordable. Please consider this school. The class ratios are very small and the kids get individual attention.

We couldn't be happier with the level of education our son is getting at Dallas Lutheran School. The school fosters personal, physical and Christian growth along with academic growth. The student population is friendly and caring along with the staff.

The teachers and staff are awesome. It's the happiest I've ever seen my child. She actually loves going to school. I'm not just saying that. She tends to grumble about school, but it hasn't been that way since being on the DLS campus. Please join us. You won't regret it.

I love this school. My daughter is completing her freshmen (and first year) at this school. It is a safe, nurturing, and challenging environment. The teachers, administrators, and staff are caring and know each student. They have great sports, too. I especially like their integrated tutoring center (Talent Zone) where students get exceptional one-on-one help. I also like the way the whole school is involved in community service. I can honestly say that I have never heard any parent say a bad word about this school. They are a well-kept secret in Dallas. We are even encouraging other parents we know to enroll their daughters here. I only wish I had found it sooner so I could have enrolled my daughter here in 7th grade and skipped the tumultuous junior high years in public school. One more thing: she had previously attended a different very expensive Dallas private school for 4 years. This school is better and some of the kids from that private school are at DLS now!

My son is in 7th grade at DLS and loves it. The support he gets from the staff is amazing and he has grown so much in his academics and faith while being there. If you are considering a school for your child, the small class sizes, caring staff and Christian education make it worth your time to consider DLS.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
