Everyone gets along at this school it seems like......more time to concentrate and less distractions...
Walden probably saved my son's life. If your child is struggling in the public school environment, I would strongly suggest you consider Walden. It has a wonderfully caring and dedicated staff, and a very small teacher to student ratio. They will nurture your child and give him/her the opportunity to succeed.
My daughter is a student at Walden, and it has been a blessing in every way. She was struggling in public school, not fitting in, and had drifted into a crowd of kids who were not intending to finish high school. At Walden the teachers have motivated her so that she is happy and successful. The huge public school model, with the big classes and social cliques is not the best solution for a lot of kids, and it is great that there is a school like Walden with a fresh approach to academics.
I graduated from Walden in 2006. It really changed my life, I was going to drop out before I discovered this school. It is pretty much the exact opposite of public school. Some of the most amazing people I have ever met work there. It is an amazing experience and there is no other school like it. It is relaxed and fun and the teachers genuinely care about every student and they work their butts off trying to help them. If you have a child and they are unhappy in public school, send them here. It will change their life for the better.
Several years ago my son grew despondent in public school and requested home schooling; this was not possible. Instead he spent a day at Walden and instantly loved the school. Walden was established 35 years ago and serves students who are drawn to be individualists. As a school official pointed out to me 'we serve students who don't fit into boxes.' Some students may have slight learning disabilities, low motivation, be driven by an unusual artistic flair, or just dislike the contemporary high school scene; other students want to finish high school early. Walden pulls these students together and forms a cohesive, supporting environment for learning. Students come from Dallas and the suburbs. They seek a school that is less restrictive to their personal liberties, more motivational, and less judgmental. They receive an intimate setting with great teachers who care about their development and an education for their futures.
