My daughter just graduated from Bending Oaks. The schools is amazing. The personal attention that she received from the teachers and administrators changed her outlook on life. The classes were small. The school has a non-competitive feel. I felt very comfortable with the school. It is a schoo where a person feels they don't have to change themselves or pretend to be someone they at not to be accepted and cared about. I am comfortable sending her away to college and she did the entire college application by herself. I love this school and all the people there.

When we went for the interview, I watched my completely stressed out child relax for the first time since he started high school. This is the perfect environment for him. He is eager to go to school everyday and his grades went from failing to high As. The facilitation model is great and the atmosphere is relaxed. I highly recommend Bending Oaks and wish I had found this school 3 years ago.

This school has been the best place for my child. I wish that I had found them earlier. They are willing to listen and work with your child's needs.

A major move cross country is stressful enough for a teen without the added stress of a large public school where under the best of circumstances most students are "just a number". Our son was "just a number" in a public high school; resulting in a miserable year and the necessity for summer school. As we watched our son graduate from BOHS, memories flooded back to that first day of summer school at BOHS. There was no looking back! From day one, he had new friends and a connection with teachers/staff. The confidence gained by caring adults as well as the knowledge and achievement fostered in small classes resulted in a college acceptance. At one time, we were very worried about our son's future. Today, we know he has the skills and confidence for a bright tomorrow. Thanks to Bending Oaks High School...

How many kids start off their summer break by saying how much they are going to miss school??!! My son is a changed student - a changed kid for that matter - since starting Bending Oaks last year. He actually smiles when he gets in the car after school every day. I strongly recommend this school to any parent who wants their child to think for themselves, be motivated to learn and to be a part of a group that feels more like a family than a school.

Bending Oaks is what school should be like for every student. It is a positive environment that embraces each student's strengths. Public schools teach for the 'test' and have lost the passion for education. I strongly recommend Bending Oaks! It will change your child's life!

I love bending oaks as a student because it is a school that takes away the whole' drill the TAKS test in the students for the big day'. The teachers are really nice, they will help you with school, and personal issues, they give you a chance, and don't judge. The students are so caring and so understanding that you will forget they are actually students. The whole school, at least for me, Is like one big family and a home away from home. the whole shool boosted my confidence way up. I came from a public school that drilled the taks in and all the students made fun of me because I stuttered. Then Bending Oaks took me in and changed my life and never judge me for my stuttering and accepted me for who i am.

This is my son's freshman year in college after graduating from Bending Oaks last year. Thanks to the excellent teachers and administrators, his high school experience at Bending Oaks has given him the knowledge and confidence to succeed. He has A's in almost all his classes and is highly motivated to succeed. Before he started attending Bending Oaks, we feared that he would drop out of high school. Thanks, Bending Oaks!

As parents of a highly creative, independent, and strongwilled child, we are so grateful to the faculty and staff at Bending Oaks for helping our son rekindle his love of learning. Teachers at Bending Oaks have a genuine way of engaging students' intellect and creativity by encouraging them to embrace their unique interests, gifts, and abilities. Watching our son graduate with a smile on his face and actually looking forward to college is the result of the caring community that is Bending Oaks High School.

Quoting the 2009 Salutatorian ... 'without Bending Oaks, I would not have finished high school'. Not just a student, but the Salutatorian who is headed to Syracuse Univ. This is not the best school for everyone, but it was the best decision we could have made for our student. Bending Oaks has a close, caring, reinforcing environment. Your student can benefit at the level she/he is willing work for. Teachers and administration are open, understanding and encouraging. And they teach the students ... no small feat. Bending Oaks is not traditional, but it is remarkable. Administration welcomes visits from potential students. The only way to know is to try.

I am very happy with the choice to move my daughter to this school. The small classrooms insure participation and the teachers and staff are very accessible and open to any problems or concerns. Frequent parent/teacher conferences and updates by email and to your cell phone keep parents well informed. Thank you Bending Oaks!

I, too, worried that there was not enough homework or a high enough level of work @ BOHS. But I have come to realize (over 2 1/2 yrs) that the different structure at BOHS simply allows the kids to get that work done at school. Also that there is plenty of chance to go above and beyond without the constant projects simply because the teachers are so accessible and the class size so small. The kids truly can be in charge of their own education at BOHS, it is all there for the taking. If you want your child to learn how to cope in a pressured, structured environment (many colleges are like that after all) then I would question sending them to BOHS. If you want your child's education to be driven more by curiosity than by regimen, I would highly recommend this school.

As a delightful but somewhat 'quirky' child, my daughter struggled socially in public junior high. Bending Oaks has a warm and accepting ethos that has contributed greatly to her increased self-confidence this year. She is more comfortable in her own skin than we have ever seen her; that is a priceless gift that she receives daily from Bending Oaks.

My wife and I were at wits end with our son. He was failing out of public school and he simply didn t care. Finding Bending Oaks was the greatest thing in the world for us. After enrolling our son at Bending Oaks his grades immediately improved to expectations we would have never thought possible. He loved his classes, but more importantly he loved his teachers. The teachers at Bending Oaks genuinely care about their students. I ve seen them first hand bend over backwards to help our son out. He is now in his first year of college and is doing fantastic. If it weren t for Bending Oaks I don t know where he would be now.

Our son has gone to Bending Oaks for three years now. It is a much better classroom situation for him than at a traditional school where he was sitting in the back of the classroom and 'tuning out' the teachers. He can't do that here. It has been a God send for us. However, the main drawback I see is that they are maybe a little too lax with dicipline and I don't feel Bending Oaks prepares them very well for college with the very small amount of homework that is given. It is a double edged sword - our son will graduate with good grades, but may not be prepared for what he may find in college.

My son has attended Bending Oaks since the beginning of the 2007 school year. He previously hated school and was certainly not a model student. Having now spent 12 weeks at Bending Oaks he enjoys going to school, is applying himself to his work during class and his behavior is, overall, reflecting a complete change of attitude to school. From a parents perspective I was concerned about the lack of homework that is given, however, the small sizes of the classes equate to fairly intense learning and my son utilizes his free time before school and during breaks to manage any homework that is given. It is a small community which means all the teachers are aware of each student's strengths and weaknesses and they manage my son well. I am very happy with Bending Oaks High School.

As our son tells us, Bending Oaks 'is the best school in the whole world.' Everything about the school works for him. He is getting a better education than he was receiving in the public school. The smaller class size and school atmosphere make it work for him. We get to visit with each one of his teachers in person every six weeks. The administrator is always available to speak with us when we call. We are so glad we found Bending Oaks High School!

I sent my son at Bending Oaks and his progress has not improved. I had to complain to the Administrator about certain teachers. My son also complained about the students at Bending Oaks. I addressed the problem with the administrator and nothing was done for 4 months. The bottom line was I spent $13,000 dollars and at the end of the school year. I decided not to enroll him at Bending Oaks again.
