THis school is not what it used to be. Enrollment is declining and with good reason. Many of the teachers have been there too long and are non-responsive to the parents, lazy, and have ceased caring about the students. Classrooms are out of control with absolutely no discipline system enforced upon students who bully other kids and are consistently disrespectful to teachers! Kids are warehoused on two floors of a downtown building with no gym and the only athletic facility twenty miles away. Students ride the elevator downstairs alone after school in an unsecure building and wait alone on the street for their parents without no adult or school supervision (middle and upper school.)

Mediocrity is the order of the day at FBA. Teachers are unmotivated and there are very few field trips or outside activities. There is no on line system for sharing grades and few of the teachers actually use edline for homework or, if they do, it is inconsistent. Some of the science classes exclusively do worksheets and take quizzes and do not do labs or experiments. My kids are bored and burned out and depressed from the grind. Look somewhere else!

Dallas FBA is an excellent school that offers challenging AP curriculum, as well as numerous fine arts and athletic opportunities. We've been at FBA for one year now and are extremely pleased with the level of instruction and Christian emphasis this school offers. We are also impressed with FBA's mission emphasis on community service and the Interim Break opportunities that set this school apart from all the other area private Christian schools. It's no wonder that year after year, numerous graduating seniors from FBA are accepted by Ivy League schools and the military academies. FBA is an excellent school that will not only prepare your child for university but life!

First Baptist Academy is a stellar school both academically and spiritually. My two children, currently on scholarship at Texas A&M University, went to FBA from K-12 and benefited academically and spiritually. As an educator: HS SAT prep teacher at the academy and a professor at Eastfield college, I find the spiritual GPS the academy guides the children with is even more valuable than the excellent and innovative curriculum. Both children excelled in sports and extracurricular activities at the academy and are maintaining life long friendships.

As a Lower School parent, my observations have been that overall, the lower school is well run with an excellent principal. However, there are several teachers, no names mentioned, that should have retired long ago...as they have lost control of the classroom. If your child is enrolling in Lower School at FBA, you may want to ask to speak to several of the parents who have or have had children in LS and the same teachers. One other complaint is the un-willingness of the church to make rational decisions about repairs and upkeep to the lower school...the cafeteria for example looks worse than that of any inner city DISD public school. Tour the facilities and ask questions. I think the overall desire for the school to do good is there, but when you are paying good money to send your child there...you want to get your money's worth.

Great Christian school with excellent academics. Of the 3 top co-ed Christian schools in Dallas, they are probably the best at dealing with kids that learn differently. We left one of the other top Christian Schools and went to Shelton for 3 years of remediation, which prepared our kid for FBA. Shelton is fantastic for kids that learn differently, but is purely secular.

This is my 3rd yr @ First Baptist. This is also my 3rd school. and by far it surpasses the other 2 i have attended. the teachers really care about your life in and out of the classroom. the athletics are strong and the facilities are state of the art and improving yearly. Unlike a large public achool i am able to be involved in several aspects of the school. im not just labled as one thing such as a jock or band geek, but instead i praticapate in football, swimming, track, chior, theature, and im the class president. my life is my school and the school is my life, between the academics, the faculty, Godly influence and my many close friends it has definatly been the perfect fit for me

Except for the location, this is a wonderful school. The teachers are exceptional, caring individuals. Your child will get a top-notch education in a christian atmosphere.

first baptist academy is an excellent school academically, and the leadership is top notch. The school prepares students well by providing quality education and learning from within a Christian atmosphere. The teachers and leadership are good at what they do, professional, and caring. What more can you ask for in a quality education?
