My school is AWESOME! The front of the school is beautiful, the new uniforms are great, all teachers and staff are nice.
I have two children attending FFA they are in 11th and kindergarten. I love the progress the school is making and the changes its made but would appreciate if the kindergarten principal more respectful and tone down the ego but the teachers are incredible my son prek teacher was Ms. Young and she is amazing my son learned soooo much he is now with mr.manzanera and is doing great! And the school has a app named classdojo that allows you to moniter your kids progress and discipline problems. For my other son he is taking advanced classes is a A and B student, does great in all major test and in cross country and definitely know FFA played a big part in his education. Thank you
Our daughter loves her Kindergarden class. Her teacher Mrs. Tomme is doing a great job. Our daughter has learned how to read and write very simple words and I am happy about her progress. I think this school is great for Pre-K and K, but she will be going to another school for 1st grade because I don't like the school environment too much. All it all, we are happy with our daughter's education there for now and the academic program is doing a good job preparing her for 1st grade.
The principal is terrible!!! Don't send your kids to this school, they deserve better. The ECC school is great but the 1st grade through 12th grade is awful. The principal is running around on an ego trip and instead of focusing on what really matters to better the kids education, she busy bullying the handful of good teachers on staff. SMH!!!!
I disagree with the prior low ratings. For one, we have a high ESL student population, so why wouldn't we have ESL development? The department I teach in had 100% retention. Yes, we had some behavioral challenges -- but that is our job to deal with in cooperation with the parents and dean. I see our school getting better!
FFA is a TERRIBLE school!!! Zero stars!!! The school is very disorganized. The first few days of each semester there are constant changes in students schedules. All professional development is over ESL learners. There is high turnover rate. One department only had 1 teacher return. Middle school only had 4 teachers return. Some teachers resign in the middle of the school year. This school accepts any student, which means students who have been kicked out of previous school(s) with bad behavior and disrespectful. Students don't know the concept of homework.
Terrible Principal. The best teachers heading for the exit. A shame for the students, once again.
This school has one of the best art departments I have ever seen. And it's a total secret for some reason!
The teachers and staff at the elementary campus are incredible! I am so proud to be a member of FFA. The principal, Mrs. Mabra, holds high expectations for both staff members and students. It is a great place to work.
The teachers for the elementary school are great. My concern is the principal. She doesn't give some of the parents respect. My daugther said she doen't even know her principal's name Would like to see the school shape up in this area also.
This school has come a long way in the past 2 years, tremendous improvement in teacher turnover. Thanks to the efforts of Mrs. Douglas, the appearance of the school has improved, parental involvement and participation is up, and there are more activities for the students. The TAKS scores continue to improve, but still have a long way to go. There are lots of at-risk kids here.
My grandchild has attended FFA since Pre-K She's now in 2nd grade and things are just not the same as when she started. The way discipline is handle has made me seek schooling else where. I wish they would take a closer look at positive interventions for elementary grade school students.
Middle and High school have improved many times over this year. We have an administration that is disciplined and the students are starting to tow the line because of it. The school still allows some troublemakers to linger in the school but they are working hard to solve the problem. The school has golf, track, basketball, art club, volleyball, baseball, technology and a whole bunch of other after-school activities for the first time in the schools history. A school that improves year after year!
I wish they would put more curricular activities like rotc, drill team, cheer, and maybe football. Also for the elementary part of the school. The administration is trying very hard to make this school sucessful. Most of the teachers are great!
It's my first year as an elementary staff member, so I only have the stories from long term staff to go by, and according to them...things are looking up at FFA. So many have said, 'For the first time, FFA feels like a real school!' Mrs. Mabra has signed a two year contract as an administrator, and the majority of the elementary staff will be returning. There has been a real 'clean up' act on discipline issues; a progressive discipline plan hinders troublemakers being allowed to stay at FFA and disrupt learning. Teachers are teaching 'bell to bell'; TAKS preparation has been extensive; scores are UP! Nowhere will you find a more devoted effort by an elementary administrator and her staff to provide students every chance to succeed. Rated 'AVERAGE' to date, but look out...we'll exceed that in 2008/09! I'm proud of FFA!
I enjoy having my children attend Faith Family Academy. He is in 8th grade currently on the and my daughter is in 1st gade. My son is currently on the A/B honor role and on the National Honors Society. My daughter is currently student of the month and she has perfect attendance and on the A Honor roll. FAA is the best school in Texas.
I cannot speak for previous years but I am confident that FFA is on the right track. We are working very hard to retain teachers and students. We are working to improve the curriculum and support our first year teachers. Watch out for this years' test scores they are on the way up. Things are different than in the past and we will not stop until we are the best school in Dallas.
Faith Family Academy of Oak Cliff has a dramatically different feel this school year. Its principal, Mr. Kitchens, cares deeply about his staff and his students. He keeps parents informed, makes sure teachers have what they need, and wants the best for every student. The staff work long hours outside of class, and the parent involvement is ten times what is has been in past years. Faith Family will be a school to watch in the coming years. Parnents will have to contend with a wait list for admission to all grades if they keep improving like they have this year.
As a staff memebr at faith family Academy coming from public education, I can say it is different. However if we can keep a constant retention of teachers then we will be a great school again. The students here are just like anywhere else they will do what ever you let them get away with. The campus administration this has its prob;ems, but they are getting better. As a teacher here I feel that I could go work for better performing, and prettier schools that offer a more atractive benifits package, but I can do so much here, and the kids are more than willing to rise to your expectaions, as long as you tell them what you expect of them. The kids wont disappoint you.
The Teachers at this school are very dedicated to helping their students exceed!!!
