Bad District, run for the hills!! I would agree 100% with the 2 previous posts. Only about 3 out ouf 4 students are promoted to the next grade. Principal & many teachers are buddy, buddy, & aren't going to listen to your concerns, especially if you are an "outsider". If you complain, to the principal, or the superintendent, or ask them questions, you will become their target for retaliation. If you complain about their retaliation tactics, you will be even more of a target. Currently as I write this post, a federal investigation is underway with the United States Department Of Education Office For Civil Rights. I have written many letters to this district. They have never answered any letter, or question I have asked of them. They are not open for suggestion. They will continue their trend of "business as usual" until they are stopped forcibly. They still think they are in the "wild west". I do want to say there are a few good teachers, but the "buddy, buddy mentality is a great hindrance to a positive change in this entire district. Report violations to The Texas Department Of Education (TEA), or The US Department Of Education, That is my opinion since they don't answer questions

We are military and have lived in quite a few school districts. Overall this district is the worst we have seen. The school lacks good leadership, and they seem more interested in attendance and testing than actual education of students. At our Kindergartener's orientation, the teacher told to go ahead and send kids in that were mildly sick and they would "keep an eye on them". They reward kids with candy (which I thought they stopped doing circa 1970). On a more positive note, there are several teachers that are outstanding, they are just the exception rather than the rule. I also don't fear for my child's safety

The school offers more extracurricular activities than some of the other elementary schools. The school leadership is of poor quality at best. There isn't much parent involvement at the school. The leadership doesn't encourage it. My child also attended Ruben Chavira and the school was overall much better.

Quality of acedemic programs are average. Not enough challenging subjects. Good array of extracurricular activities. Good parent involvement
