Wilson Elementary School

My daughter is in 1st grade of the Dual Language program at Wilson. While she doesn't seem to be absorbing much Spanish, she does love school, and is already reading chapter books independently. Her teachers have all been wonderful, very impressive. She is also in the gifted and talented program, which is fantastic. We moved to this neighborhood primarily so that she could attend this school, and I do not regret that decision.

Wilson Elementary has established a great learning community with a coalition of students, parents, mentors, and staff which allows each child to be successful. We are a Title 1 which serves the needs of all our student population. Our classrooms include iclusion, bilingual,, English as a Second Language learners, gifted studens, and is a melting pot of cultures. All the members of our staff have high academic expectations for our students and as a result we have been in the top 4% of the schools in Texas for two consecutive years.

My three children attended Wilson Elementary and absolutely loved school. Two had perfect attendance and my daughter missed one day. It says alot for the fantastic, motivating teachers. They have grown to be productive adults, two in college to be teachers/coaches and the other still in high school. Thank you Woodrow wilson!

Wilson strives to provide excellence in all academic areas. Teachers really care about the students and want to ensure they have a positive learning environment. My kids have been to three different schools in the Denton school district but Woodrow Wilson has been the best by far! Such a caring and community feel to this school. Great teachers and staff!!

Wilson is the best school in Denton! It has the best administration, teachers, students and parents. There's something special about the kids that go through Wilson Elementary. Just ask the Middle School teachers in town!

I have had 2 children already go through Woodrow Wilson and one still attending. I have been thoroughly impressed with each teacher my children have had, as well as the parent involvement. The school is very innovative in their programs. My daughter is involved in their dual language program. Wilson was the first elementary school in our town to have this program. We are very proud Woodrow Wilson parents and appreciate the efforts of the teachers and administrators of the school.

Love the school! Started my daughter out at Sam Houston and did not feel the love from the teachers. Was a bit hesitant starting a new school, but both son and daughter love it and feel loved by their teachers! Great programs, great school! Daughter is in 5th grade now and is able to join all clubs - track, choir, and orchestra! I am impressed!

I disagree with the statement in reference to the special needs children being sent to this school. The Inclusion Program is bridging the gap for those students who are not on grade level. There is also Life Skills classes that assist students with daily living needs. Overall, Wilson is a great school and the staff really care about ALL students.

For the general population it is a good school, especially for gifted children, they will receive a lot of attention. I would not send a special needs child to this school you will be very disappointed

Wow do we miss Wilson! My son was there for two years. There is such a feeling of community in this school, you have to visit to understand. The teachers really care about the students. The PTA is very strong. The Principal is good enough, but beats the heck out of Sam Houston.
