My son is in Kindergarten @ John Ciavarra In Devine, Texas. We are very disgusted with the way his school is ran. The School gives number grades in Kindergarten and does not follow the TEKS requirements. He is given a weekly test in the different subjects and is given First grade level material. The six weeks tests are given 3-4 weeks into the 6 week grading period and is not re-tested if there is a problem area. The Principal is new and you have to fight with her and get ugly before she looks into certain situations and finds out you are correct. We would move our son to a different district if we would not have to pay the $1000 tuition and our son is too sensitive to uproot right now.
I am a grandparent and I have been very satisfied with this school. My grandchildren were very well taught. I have two that were reading by the end of kindergarten. I have a new grandchild coming in this year and I feel so confident that she will learn quick. Thanks to your teachers and also the teacher aids for their involvement.
