This is an excellent school district. All my children graduated from Douglass. Jr. & Sr. years students may take college courses on campus and upon high school graduation also have 24 college hours. This is great! Disipline is not a problem. Zero tolerance. The faculty and staff treats all students like family. The board is excellent. You could not ask for a better school district.

3 cheers for Douglass! My children went through their system and they are better students and citizens for the experience. The teachers are exceptional and are dedicated. Students that graduate from Douglass ISD are better prepared for college...just ask any graduate. The teachers can tell you of untold graduates that have revisited their alma mater just to tell them of how well they were prepared for college. Discipline issues are nil compared to other area schools. I know, I work for other schools in the area. I love their 'zero' tolerance for discipline issues. If children are distracted because of 'behaviorally' challenged children, the learning process is being interrupted. Great support from the teachers, faculty, staff, administration and the school board!

This school has been a huge disappointment for me and my child. My child attened this school from Kindergarden through the 4th grade. There are no guidlines that children have to follow on behavior. You also may want to check and see how many students this school has lost to Homeschooling, you'd by surprised by the numbers.

This is a good school, with great staff, and kids attending with supportive, involved parents.

Douglass is an excellent country school. If small class size and individual attention are what you are looking for, you've come to the right place. Acedemic excellence, caring faculty, and terrific school spirit are all evident here at every grade level. Administration is very 'hands on' - everybody knows everybody, and every child is somebody at Douglass. They far surpass 'No Child Left Behind' with an attitude that 'Every Child Can Succeed'. Somewhat lacking in bells & whistles of a larger school (fine arts, football, etc.), they more than make up for it with strong fundamental academic program, G/T & UIL enrichment opportunities, solid athletics (basketball, baseball, softball, track, cross-country), and dual-credit college classes for high school. I highly recommend this school!
