My children are currently students at Travis and have been since 2004. The staff at Travis is very friendly and loving with the students. Although they are pressured to push the TAKS, they also take time to encourage students to participate in extra curricular activities which in turn allow students to be more receptive to the TAKS. Creativity allows children to open their minds and to grow as INDIVIDUALS!
The quality of Travis Elementary is very poor. There is a lot of favoritism. The smart/bright students are not being taught to their full potential. Instead, a lot of emphasis is placed on tutoring the 'slower' students.
