Teachers at this school only to the TAKS test. They have no concern for student's individuality. They care about the score, not the child. The school is run like the military, leaving the children with very little time for interaction. The Principal is rude, and not only yells at the students, but the parents as well. Teachers use their personal cell phones during class time. The school gets great scores, but that has a lot to do with the demographic, and parent involvement. The actual teaching is left up to the parents with hours worth of homework each day.
My son started 2nd grade last year and this year he is looking forward to complete another successful year at Trevino Elementary in 3rd grade. The front office and teachers are very presentable, helpful and friendly. Recently, we experienced a very organized back to school registration session as well.
Trevino Elem. is a fantastic school! I believe my children are earning wonderful education at this school. The teachers are terrific.
The GT program at this was not in my opinion, a true GT program. The teachers were giving extra repetetive homework, like addition problems, which have nothing to do with GT. The principal never returned my calls.
There is a lot of favoritism in this school. Special attention is being given to children of the principal, teachers , staff or their friends. Fairness should be practiced at all times and should be initiated by the principal herself. This school should not focus so much on STARS (dance club). Please pay more attention to academically-inclined clubs/organizations.
Trevino Elementary is by far the best thing that ever happened to my children. I had 1 child that had since passed on to middle school and one that is still attending the school. The school offers a vast amount of educational opportunities for their children. This school believes in making learning fun. The staff at this campus is beyond recognition. Trevino also offers a wide variety of extra curricular activities to broaden any child's mind.
My child attended 1st Grade, from this experience I can say the school has a terrific curriculum and my child received an excellent academic education. However, I find it lacking in addressing bulling.
I have three children who have all attended Trevino Elementary. Two of them are now in Middle School and I credit much of their success to the wonderful administration and teachers at Trevino. These teachers truly 'go the extra mile' for ALL students!! This school offers wonderful educational, as well as extracurricular opportunities for children. The success of this school is directly related to the hardwork and dedication of the staff. A special thank you to Mrs. Cynthia Saenz for setting such high standards for the Trevino students and staff.
This is an awesome school. There are many excellent teachers on this campus. They go the extra mile for everyone. The extra curricular activities at this school are never ending. My girls have had opportunties to participate in many events like UIL, STARS, Student Council, Choir, Chess and so many more. Thanks everyone for being so caring.
It is a good little school the only fault I find in it is that there is to much favoritism among the teachers children and their relatives. Those children are treated different by the staff because they are teachers children or relatives. This is why I think it should not be allowed that they go to the same school that the parents are employeed at. I feel if this policy is changed they would not have favoritism and there would be no need to redistrict children for overcrowding.
