As parents, with all the strength to achieve the level of excellence for our kids, we all have a role to play. Be involved, let's not expect the school to do things alone. Most often are teachers blamed for poor student performance, but not being praised for their dedication and endurance. Let me take this opportunity to thank all the teaching staff, most especially the foreign graduates, for all their perseverance in adapting to a new environment. We are so grateful and appreciative of all your day to day efforts.

The school is full of teachers who are not interested in student success after high school. They teach students to pass the state exam but fail in giving students the critical thinking skills needed for success in the real world. There are a handfull of excellent educators, but I have to say that most of the educators are subpar when compared to other schools in El Paso and Texas. The vast amount of extra-curricular activities available is what makes me rate Ysleta as an average school rather than a poor school. Sports, fine arts, and the academic teams are good exposure to areas outside of the weak academics. Maybe with due time, under the guidance of the new principal, the school will reach its potential.
