We are looking for a top rated school district and High School Wrestling and Lacrosse programs. New and modern schools with AP and outstanding technology. Anyone have reccomendations on where we should search for a similar type situation near El Paso?
Honestly, there aren't a lot of outstanding schools here. There's a reason I decided to go the private route. You will be very disappointed in the quality of education, especially if you are coming from an area where education is valued.
That being said, Franklin and Coronado are considered the two best high schools here. Both are on the west side of town.76578
There are 3 main districts here. El Paso, Ysleta and Socorro. Ysleta is a small district consisting of MAYBE 5 high schools. But I believe it is one of the best ones out there. They seem to have less negative media towards them. I went to EPISD when I was in school and I can't complain but I think compare to the other two, it's not that great! Both Franklin and Coronado are in the EPISD, and they are good schools, but it's also because it is located in the higher income part of town. (More supportive parents) Socorro District is good as well... just the schools are so over populated because the city is growing so fast in the Socorro district. I would have to say Montwood would be best in Socorro, Hanks or Eastwood for Ysleta and Franklin for EPISD. BTW, I don't believe any school in El Paso plays Lacrosse. In Texas, it's all about football. Sorry. 78165
