My son is in the special education program at this school. He just started the 4th grade, and is currently being educated via homebound services because the school will not allow parental involvement in the transition from home to school. A child that is severely disabled, non verbal, and equipped with many implanted medical devices can not indicate to the staff when he is in pain, or otherwise being mishandled or misunderstood. The staff admittedly has no knowledge of understanding of his disability or the medical devices, yet insist they will "learn as we go"... While they are learning, this is potential dangerous and painful for a child that they do not yet understand... This school's inflexibility, and general negative attitude toward parents and the special education department is truly disheartening. These children deserve to learn and grow, and their parents deserve the peace of mind.

Both my child went to Farmersville Intermediate last year and will attend the new Farmersville Intermediate this year. I am involved in the school and PTO and feel that working with Mr Clements and the staff, this is a great school and friendly, easy to work with staff. My suggestion is get involved with the PTO in your area and this will help you stay on top of what is going on and Volunteer at the schools and get in there with your kids or grandchildren. Get involved with what is going on with them.
