Excellent school where children can reach their highest potential in a warm and fun, but also challenging, atmosphere. The teaching is meaningful and engaging. We are continuously stunned at what our child is learning at school-- well above grade level, and is having a great time doing it. The teachers are wonderfully nurturing, and the parents are welcoming and very nice. The director, Andrea Slaughter, is amazing! We couldn't have asked for a better school for our child!
My son is in the 2nd grade and has attended Explorations since PreK. We couldn't have chosen a better school for him and our family. He loves to go to school and we love the excellerated learning, caring and dedicated teachers and family-like atmosphere.
We can't say enough about how wonderful Explorations is. My daughter complained every day about going to school before we found Explorations and now she can't get to school fast enough. The style of teaching encourages children to think creatively - there is no cookie-cutter learning here. Class size is small so the teachers can cater to each child's ability. The atmosphere is warm and encouraging, the leadership outstanding. The only disadvantage is that the school doesn't go through 12th grade!
Our sons love going to school! Explorations is such a wonderful and nurturing environment. The Director and teachers are so imaginative in the way they teach the curriculum. Couple that with the hands-on learning and multiple field trips and Explorations cannot be beat in the Flower Mound area.
I love the one and one teaching my daughter gets at EPS. The good communication between the teachers and director with the parents!
We feel so fortunate to have found this little school with such a big heart! My son wakes up so eager to go every morning and the days off he's actually sad that he doesn't have classes. We love the Science curriculum / theme based learning approach and especially the Spanish / French they get twice a week with the option for extra Spanish classes after school. The director and the teachers could not be more enthusiastic and helpful, and will do everything in their power to help the children reach their full potential. It's not about keeping the kids at the same level, as in public schools; it's about seeing how far the EPS students can go... There is no limit! The next year picks up where they left off the previous year; there are no standardized plans or tests here. We wouldn't dream of going anywhere else!
Explorations Prep has a very interesting learning environment which encourages the students to want to learn.
Exploration Preparatory School has small classes which helps create a strong bond amoung the children.
My son started pre-k at another school and did not do well and he did not want to go to school. We decided to try Explorations and have been very pleased. Our son now loves to go to school and is learning so much. He really enjoys the hands on learning and he loves his great teacher!
The Explorations school has given my son a new educational life. The public school had taken him from loving school to hating it in three weeks. Explorations has turned that around. My son is learning and loving it. I can not express how much that means to me.
- Small class sizes - Caring teachers - Individualized attention - Theme based curriculum - High expectations but without unproductive competition between the kids and between the parents - Fun: the kids love to go to school
EPS strives to help children develop critical thinking skills instead of teaching to a standardized test. Every child is valued for who they are and challenged to reach for their top potential.
I love Explorations Prep for their small student-teacher ratio, high level of parent/family involvement, and their awesome teachers!
My daughters (1st & 2nd grades) love school! Not only are they being challenged academically, but they are also being nurtured socially and emotionally. The school consists of an amazing community of teachers, parents and fabulous kids. It is everything a parent could want in a school!!
The school has an exciting, theme-based approach to education that engages the students and the parents. It takes the time to know its students and tailor their eduction to their interests, strengths and weaknesses.
My kids love going to school which means everything to me. They get to learn 3 languages (English, Spanish and French). They also get to experience science, not just read about it. The icing on the cake is the incredibly creative and nurturing teaching staff. I drive 35 minutes one way for this school and it is so worth it!!
You have never seen kids like ours who love to go to school and won't leave because they love their teachers!
Our daughter is finishing her second year at Explorations Preparatory school, and we could not be happier with our decision. We had looked at nearly every private school in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area prior to finding this gem in our back yard. We saw schools that were bigger and some with more sparkling facilities, but none that met our needs as parents of a bright soon to be first grader. The theme-based curriculum has given her a head start on her peers and also instilled a love of learning especially in science and math. In addition to those subjects, as a first grader, she was assigned a poem to memorize and perform each week and that gave her confidence in speaking in front of a group. Learning is hands on, based on methods and lesson plans developed by great teachers, not mandated by an administrative team somewhere outside the classroom. Not only academically great, Explorations is a loving place to learn and grow. From the family field trips to learn about habitats in Oklahoma or seeing a space shuttle launch live from the Johnson Space Center in Houston to supplement the space theme, Explorations involves the entire family. The time a student spent in school is second only to the time spent at home and making the right choice is a very important one. Having a great place in Explorations has been priceless in our opinion.
