Forest Vista is a one of kind school in Flower Mound, Texas. Two of my children have gone through all the grade levels, and my youngest is currently enrolled in the third grade. This is a truly outstanding school, with exceptional, caring teachers. I love that this school nurtures creativity and critical thinking all while building a rock solid foundation. The teachers we have had are all excellent communicators, and their love of teaching just beams through and through. Dr. Schott is a wonderful principal, and he truly puts the kids in the building first. The PTA is a wonderful organization, and they do so much for the school including the wonderful programs they sponsor, and events that bring the community together throughout the year. 5th grade mini-society and the yearly carnival are two events our family never misses. I honestly can't say enough great things about this truly exceptional school. I will be sad when my youngest leaves for middle school in two years, because we have built a lifetime of memories at Forest Vista. We've been there awhile and have seen the school go through many changes, and it just manages to get better and better.

You only put in good reviews. I put in a review in April 2013. You didn't post. Principal and Assistant are leaving. This is tragic. School was doing well. Now its October 2013 and the school is like a prison. I don't give it any stars but if you don't give a star you cant post

I have a daughter with dyslexia and the school has done a fantastic job to develop and administer a program that helps her cope with her disability. The program has enabled her to keep pace with all the other kids, and she continues to make good grades. The principal, teachers, and staff are all very caring and dedicated to the kids. What an awesome school!

I have a 3rd grader and will have my second one enroll in K this year. I love everything about Forest Vista.. Excellent school in terms of academics, socials and extra-curricular activities. Awesome teachers who go out of their way to help a kid. The counselor is excellent and has really helped my introvert child gain confidence in class activities. Love the principal and the office staff !!

From the teachers and staff to the huge amount of volunteers, Forest Vista is full of positive/caring people (some who have been there for many years) who go out of their way for our kiddos and who love what they do.

My daughter attended FVE from K-5. We have always had a great experience there. The teachers are dedicated and go above and beyond for the students. I was most impressed when Dr. Schott came to the school as principal. Every morning he would be outside, rain or shine, opening car doors to make sure the students got safely inside. He is also always in the hall saying hello to students and parents, not behind his desk with the door closed. Now, how many principals do that? My daughter also had an a exceptionally great 5th grade year and made an easy transition to middle school. We continue to enjoy FVE now that my son is there.

I had two children attend FVE - and had wonderful experiences! We were involved in everything from LEAP to chime choir - and they thoroughly enjoyed it all! All classroom learning was exceptional. They also have a wonderful PTA and volunteer base.

We moved here two and a half years ago from another state and It was very difficult for my daughter to make the transition. We are very happy with Forest Vista's staff and student body. Both my daughters are doing well.

The students, parents, teachers, and administrators all work together to achieve excellence. The faculty has very little turnover and look forward to coming to work each and every day. The specials teachers are outstanding and develop a love of the arts in every child from kindergarten through fifth grade. Numerous parent volunteers help keep our school running smoothly. Forest Vista is an outstanding place to work and learn!

Principal and Assistant Principal are professional and very friendly but the front office personnel is the most unfriendly group of people. Academics are Excellent. I just have noticed lately that a kindergarten teacher has a favorite student, maybe that child needs extra attention, but it is obvious that the teacher is extra special with that kid.

We got a new principal last year and he has been great. There's now a balance of teacher and parent voices. We have been at FV since 2001 and have been very blessed to have teachers who care. My son also has Special Ed. and FV has a great team of teachers who are dedicated to their jobs and to the students who need special services. There are always good points and bad points but the good outweigh the bad.

Love this school and so do my kids. There's not much turnover in the faculty because the principle is supportive of them. All the teachers we have had are willing to work with us to provide the best education for our kids. The specials teachers are great and my kids can tell you about different artists, drama terms and concepts and music. Good all around education. We'll miss this school when the kids go on to mid-school.

Overall it is a good school. Should become better as there will be a new principal in 2007. There are a couple of teachers who have no business working with children. Many families have had terrible experiences with one of the first grade teachers. Hopefully, the new principal will make some positive changes.

My experience with this school has been all positive. My kindergarten child struggled initially, but the teacher was attentive and communicated a plan of action and his grades are now near perfect. Several of my neighbors children also attend this school and all I hear are positive reports about the effectiveness of the school. The school is surrounded by upper income neighborhoods with many stay at home moms who volunteer to help with classes. There appears to be a very strong PTA

My child attended this school for about 2 weeks. The teachers were awful! In 2 weeks time, the teachers never had the time to talk to me. She was new to the school and I wanted to meet her teacher and pass on her records from her old school but the teacher was actually snooty and rude to me. I found out she took cell phone calls during classtime. Afterschool, when I picked my daughter up, her last day there, a teacher suddenly, out of the blue, blew up at her screaming on the top of her lungs and was in extreme anger. The teacher did not know I was her mother and was standing right there. I asked the teacher what the problem was and the teacher calmed down enough to tell me she was mistaken. I transferred my daughter to privateschool the nextday.

My daughter transferred from a different school district to forest vista and so far I am not impressed with this district. She is a little behind and the teacher has not done anything to help her get caught up. She just keeps throwing more and more work on her.

My son went to kindergarten at Forest Vista in 2004-2005. The 'specials' are really great; the level of the art class was very impressive. I was disappointed with the large class size, and the distribution of ages among the kindergarten classes. My son ended up being 6 months younger than almost everyone else in his class, where another class 'had all the young ones'. I was also disappointed with the principal's reluctance to discuss letting my son repeat kindergarten; his teacher said he 'was doing okay' academically, but was behind developmentally (summer birthday) and she thought he'd have trouble in first grade. My impression was that the principal was more concerned meeting ratios (the K classes next year were projected to be full) than with what would be best for the individual students. I talked with one other parent who wanted her daughter to repeat K, and she had similar experiences.

This is a great school for my granddaughters. They are both accellerated students in the leap program and have had excellent opportunities by attending this outstanding school.
