New,fast growing school. Block schedule allows students to focus on few classes per semester.

The new principal this year has done wonders in raising overall moralle. This has been so encouraging. Our child has found a place to fit in through the music department. It is a big school and finding a niche is important. The quality of teacher involvement is high as is the quality of teaching. Cliques exist however in the student population and that can make it difficult for children moving in from other areas.

There are some excellent teachers at this school. In Texas now anyone with a Bachelor degree can become certified to teach, with no classroom experience or training in primary education. As with most Texas schools the emphasis seems to be on athletics rather than academics. The music department is very good. There is little diversity. If coming from out of state be sure you understand Texas achievement testing. The rule seems to be 'lower the bar' so the high passing scores look good but may be inflated (this is a Texas issue common to all schools not just this one).
