I am a 6th grader and I LOVE THIS SCHOOL! YES! PLEASE SEND YOUR CHILD HERE!
We are so fortunate to be attending one of the best kept secrets in elementary education. Wonderful teachers, I have seen them take time and expenses out of their own pocket to help with the classroom, a student or fellow staff member. The classes are like family's to the students. I am amazed every time I see a performance from this school. No amount of money can compare to the 'once a week ' classes you get elsewhere. Many ask how about the academics though? I am not an educator, but I am amazed at what my child has learned. The small classes, and caring staff are all part of this. I am proud to be a parent.
The school is a wonderful, nurturing environment for my childs first year in school. Great teachers and staff and the arts program is great. I think the acedemics are very good as he has learned a lot more than I expected for his kindergarten year. The only downside is the building they rent for school. They really need another space. It is hard on the teachers because they share the classrooms with the Temple for Hebrew School on some evenings and weekends. Much of there personal classroom items are used or lost if left out when class is not in session. I know they are actively looking for another building and I feel that it will be an even better school once that issue is resolved. Other than that, we couldn't be happier with the school and the progress our child has made.
My daughter is in 3rd grade. This is our 2nd year and we LOVE IT!!! The fine arts are amazing. We love the small environment that the school offers. The kids definitely do not get lost in the crowd. My son will be in the kindergarten program next year and we are so excited!!! The balance between academics and fine arts is GREAT!! We are so pleased that we found this school! I love the staff and everything about it!
I love this school and the teachers are fabulous I wouldn't put my child anywhere else.
As a parent of two boys in TESA (3rd and 4th grade), this is the end of our second year and it has been great! I have one child who had behavior problems in public school because as a gift child he was not challenged enough in the class room. The teachers have let him work on individual projects to push his abilities with great success. My other child was diagnosed with dyslexia with the help of the teachers. The school has provided individual help for him a couple of days a week and now he can participate with his classmates during normal activities. Public schools would have written my kids off as discipline problems, not these teachers. Both have thrived in the fine arts program which they both were hesitant about in their first week. Kudos to TESA and thanks Principal Turner for your time and effort.
My child has excelled both academically and in the fine arts this year. She has enjoyed her teachers both academic and fine arts. The space may be small but the teachers become very creative in how to make it work. I would recommend TESA to anyone who has a child that is interested in the arts.
The theatre department is great at this school, the other fine arts are seriously lacking! We have had a good experience with the younger elementary teachers. 4th-6th has been a different story. This is not the school for you if your student requires any type of special education services, no matter how extensive. The are 'not set up to service special education students'
I feel the rating of 7 for this school is way to low. It is an excellent school. We love it and couldn't imagine going anywhere else. The teachers are wonderful and caring. Many times they give extra time and there own money to help there students. I can't say enough good things and I hope that you check out the school for yourself.
Wow! The first year at this school is winding down and what a great first year my child had. We had a superior teacher and my child loved going to school every day. I have experienced other schools (both private and public) and many teachers over the school careers of my other children and this school has given us the best school year by far. My child has learned so much about science and has excelled in math. I cannot say enough great things about this school and I am looking forward to another great year next year.
