This school is absolutely wonderful!! The parents are so involved and the teachers are great. Mrs. Briese is one of the best kindergarten teachers around. All of my children will attend this school!!!

My son loves to get up every morning to attend RALC. He started there in kindergarten and every teacher he has had has been EXCELLENT. They challenge him and keep him interested which means I have to be on my toes as a parent. They do so much at RALC sometimes I am exhausted but I am grateful that my son is having the same kind of educational experience I had when I was in elementary school. Keep up the GREAT WORK RALC teachers and staff. 3rd grade we are on our way!!

It is wonderful to read all of the amazing reviews from our parents. We are a small school that has come a long way in the past few years. I have been at this school for the last 3 years and I am so blessed to have been chosen to work here with these terrific teachers and students. I could not ask for a better group of staff and parents to work with. Every year my students amaze me with their desire to learn and explore. I am very proud of our students for their Exemplary scores the past 2 years, but ratings aren't everything. These kids are thinkers. They ask why and how? They work hard every day to develop problem solving skills that will help them succeed in every aspect of life. Again, I couldn't ask for a better school to be apart of!

The administration know my children and they feel like the staff cares about them. RALC also teaches the students to be accountable and responsible in a respectable way.

Awesome teachers with caring hearts with their students' best interest in mind. My two girls have been involved in the Ballet Folklorico dance group that is offered at the school and they love it. They look forward to going to school and learning everyday.

We came from a previous school before RALC. I love that my daughter is challenged here at this school, as before she was not. It's a small school, which i love i don't feel like she is just a number or child in another school. The teachers and staff are awesome, helping and caring.

The teachers at this school have been amazing. They have nurtured and inspired our three children in ways I will be forever thankful! I feel certain these teachers will be ones that as adults our kids will fondly remember as making a difference in their lives.

It is amazing what this school has done for my grandchild. My grandaughter was devlopmental delayed according to ECI and at this point of the school; year she is one of the leaders in class and is already doing 1st grade work and she is in Pre-k. I'm so glad I worked hard to get my granddaughter into this school is has meet and exceeded anything I could have imagined. We are very blessed even without the award to have this school. Thank you

RALC is a small school with a family environment. I am truly amazed at how much my daughter has learned in her first year at RALC. The teachers and staff are wonderful and so helpful. The prompt communication the staff has with the parents is the best. I am so happy to have my daughter be a student and RALC and would highly recommend this school.

This was our first year at Riverside. I had high expectations as my oldest son attended the other ALC in FWISD, which was an awesome school. Overall the school is great. Like a said I had high expectations. It just does not meet the qualities of the other ALC. The teachers, however, are great. Lacked in parent involvement, school functions were unorganized, building is old and dated, in need of repairs.

Great School. My son came from a very public school that had hundreds of kids. To large to do anything. This is a small school in comparison and it shows. He gets more hands on work, there so many extra curricular activities (chess, basketball, art....) He loves it. All his teachers have been wonderful and very supportive. Can't say enough. Looking for a school, this is the one.

We applied for a different ALC that we thought was wonderful. However, the district choose children by lottery so we got our third choice, Riverside ALC. We loved our Kindergarten teacher only to be moved to a new class on day 2. There were so many kids they had to make a third K class. Open house was a nightmare. No microphones, kids and parents being loud, started late....totally unorganized. The worst thing that happened was that my 5 year old was left outside Alone. I was going to be 10 min late, called the office to let them know. I mistakenly thought they would take care of him until I arrived. A friend saw him outside with the icecream man alone. The school didn't even know he was gone. They never apologized and instead went on and on to a 5 year old about his responsibilities to stay in line.

This is our first year here. We love it! There is chess, and Ballet Folklorico year round. They offer Basketball in the Spring. The students are involved in projects and they really have a voice. This year, the fourth grade had an idea to create a school flag. There was a vote for the best design and the PTA funded the creation of the flags. The students are well integrated and they have a great time together. The teachers and parents are really involved. It is a great school to go to.

If you like to be apart of your child's school life this is the school for you and your child. Parent's are welcomed here. they love home support in every way! We are a small school with a big school punch! my daughter has been here for two year's and she does not want to go back to the old school she love's it here! They learn alot but have fun at they same time that's what it's all about. Lunch time they eat more than get in trouble like most big school's they are so busy trying to get the kid's to be quiet that they don't have time to eat here it's more relaxed. By the end of the year you and your child will know all most every one not just in their class but all the classes mabey not by name but by the face for sure.

Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.
