North Side has a long proud legacy of pride and excellence. I am in my second year as a teacher at North Side and can honestly say that there is something very special about the kids here. The school itself has a a ton of history and is visually a beautiful place to work, however, the students continue to surprise me with their depths of spirit. My biggest challenge is obtaining parental support. I know that parents care about their children, but a language barrier coupled with very busy work schedules of many parents means that kids are often on their own for transportation and after-school events.

Stop saying this is a good school. I'm a sophomore right now and so far I'm not enjoying my time. Why? The teacher quality is starting to become worse from before. In biology class I had this teacher where he only lets is talk and use our phones. He also puts his personal problems towards us so I never get to learn a single thing in biology. I have honors world history and my teacher only gives out assignments. Of course I'm deer mine to get good grades but we don't do notes at all. Plus I'm in AVID II and we had a female mid age teacher but unexpectedly she quited. The reason why we have poor teaching is because the students. Their lazy bums and I won't learn anything if there isn't a teacher. I don't feel comfortate in the campus either. We had been attacked by Amon Carter Riverside with grafiti and the area smells like sewers. I don't feel safe in this area. I want to move schools now!!

I am a current North Side student and I can honestly say that this school is the best! The amount of respect at this school is very high and the students value each other with such an admiration it is impossible to describe. The teachers love and care for each and every one of their students. Although people who want to hate on this school spread rumors that only gangsters and druggies come here, in reality this school is full of bright, respectful students who WANT to have a future ahead of them. This school has been labeled badly by people who have never even attended this school. From my own experience, I am proud to say that I made a very wise decision in choosing this school rather than Trimble Tech or Arlington Heights. North Side High School promises a bright future for every student who wants one. I am proud to be a steer and I am positive that every one else at this school is proud also.

I feel the education and substantial excellence of the students who put forth in this great school make it the best to be. I have been here for three years now and i have had the opportunity to expand myself in great programs both educational and social. There are many great people and teachers that aren't here just for work, but to help you accomplish for the future. My final thought has to be for the great memories made here that help me strive for my dream for the future. Thank You North side the great school that pushed me to do better. - Proud Student

As an Educator with a career of over 15 years in public education. I enjoy working at North Side high School. I have worked at larger and smaller schools. The student population is receptive to learning, most of the student are very respectful. The administration goes a very good job at this school. I look forward to teaching here for many years.

I wouldn't be a teacher here because I would be scared to get shot! Stop saying it's a great school if it's surrounded by a bad neighbor hood and the school is full with gangsters!

When I went to Northside they cut two of my classes because there was no room left. So I had 2 hours free of class every day when I could of been placed into a class to earn credits. I felt discouraged and eventualy dropped out. I know they have added classes but I know I wouldnt want my kids to attend Northside High School.

I have taught at North Side for many years now and there is one thing I know for sure... the students are the best!! I show up every day to help the students learn as much as possible and excel to the highest degree. I agree with the other teacher's review concerning the lack of administration. The dress code is not enforced, the tardy policy is laughable, and the teacher morale has completely bottomed-out. So why do we all keep working there??? The students!!

I think northside is a great school despite what other people say. I hear people say that northside has a lot of gang violence, i don't know what northside they're talking about but its not this one. i feel very safe here this might not be the best school around, but its also not the worst. My teachers do everything they can to help us pass and most students do improve their grades. If the student doesn't pass its their fault not the teachers. Mrs. Dean is a great primcipal she also does everything she can so that all her students pass. I love northside and i wouldn't go to any other high school. Go Steers!!!!!

Students run the school. The dress code is not enforced. The principal babies the students rather than teaching them to be responsible young adults. Grades are inflated so that the principal doesn't harass the teachers. The school is poorly run.

I am an alum at the magnet program at this school. The thing that most stands out is that I felt very safe and at-home at North Side. The academic level is not the highest, but the sincerity from teachers is present.

North Side is by far the best school I have attended. The teachers really care for their students and the counselors really help out the kids with problems. The principal is great and really does care about the students, experiencing that myself. Go North Side!!!!!! Go Steers!!!!!!

The hsmp program here is awesome. I am a current student and love the teachers, and the classes. It is an older school with some gang issues. But there are problems in every school. The chemistry and anatomy teacher is awesome and prepares your student for college, as well as the medical classes. This is definitely a great school if you are wanting to be in the medical field. Remember show that north side pride....Go steers.

The counselors at North Side have very little interest in their students and don't pay enough attention to them. The administrators are hard to contact and they aren't honest with parents. The teachers are very good. Except the science department.

I think North Side High School is a very good school. The administrators and the teachers really care about the students. The principal Mrs. Richardson seems determined to make the school even better. I wouldn't want my child to go anywhere else. She has already passed the TAKS test, she is making good grades and she is participating in a new after school program. She is really happy, and for a mom that's what counts.

I am a mother of five, all my children attendend NorthSide High School. As far as im concerned NorthSide is a good school, maybe the surroundings or naighborhoods arent the best, but thats not what counts here, it's the effort. And I strongly beleive that NorthSide is indeed improving. Afterall, it is a medical school why not base some attention on those students that give it their all, instead we focus on the bad. And with that I conclude that, NorthSide High School is a great school; if you as a parent and a student as well as the teachers cooperate in making the best for all.

As a sophomore at North Side, I can say that it is an excellent school, both academically and safety wise. The teachers are very enthusiastic about teaching their students, which in turn makes us students more enthusiastic about learning. Throughout the day I feel comfortable where I am, not worried about being harmed. I would recommend no other high school to send my child to in Fort Worth. North Side is a Class A high school.

Many who have heard of North Side cringe and gasp at the fact that students attend or teachers teach there. I agree that we at North Side are somewhat academically challenged, but is it fair to judge us based on those who choose not to do their work? We have some very good teachers who work hard to give us the information we need, but some students just don't seem to care, including me(at times). I disagree with the parent who complains about the attendance office being slow. There are 2000 students at North Side, do you expect your child to be the only student in school with his/her name? I also happen to disagree with what she said about security. It's not their problem if a student fails a class due to absences, they're the ones who chose not to go to class, let them deal with it.

I think that North side is a great school filled with great students and great teachers as a student at North Side I feel that the school teaches you responsibility you are responsible to go to class even if it is easy to walk off campus its your child's responsibility just as it is any where else. we are very well protected and I think that North Side is a great school

I have 2 students currently in North Side. I don't feel that it is fair that you charge the child $1 because they forget there I.D. It is not the child being charged, but the parent. Also, everytime I come down to pick up my child for a doctors appointment it takes forever. They have once brought me someone else's child. The consistency of the missed school recordings is lacking. If a teacher is needing to converse with me about my child I would rather have a phone call than a letter. I think the teachers need to be very careful before marking a student absent, the parents are the ones who have to pay. The security around the school is also lacking. I see students walk off campus all the time. I drop my children off everyday, but its my fault if they skip a class.

Cathleen Richardson is an exceptionally good principal. The halls are quiet, students are working, and the atmosphere is safe. She is to be commended.
