the principal and her staff are the ones that need need to see about taking the taks test to see if they could improve their leadership ability and see if they couldnt improve their friendliness and helpfulness with the parents

My child attended Sam Rosen for the first time in 2007-2008 school year and it was a disaster. I tried so hard to be on top of my child's education just to get beat down by the staff. The substitute teachers were teaching more than the teacher herself. The principal completely ignores anything that is not to her convinience. I urged the Super Intendent with no luck to look into the attitude of the teaching staff and help. Please reconsider this school and hopefully you don't get stuck just because you live in the district and can't afford to transport your child to a better school. However, if you do decide you like the school please post something positive, the only thing the school is on top of is making themselves look good when visitors show up, otherswise they are mean and cold to the children. The school is old, the administration is uncaring and provided little extra assistance to students who may need help. The focus is on TAKS scores and if your child is not looking like they will pass...they are left behind. Talk to the teachers in your child's prospective grade before entering them into Sam Rosen Elem. There are other options...I promise!
