Great school. This is my daughter's first year at J T Stevens. She is in Kindergarten and enjoys going to school everyday. She has a great teacher, Ms. Amy Parsons.

Our school has gone through many changes in the past few years. From a new principal, new teachers, to lower socioecomonics. For the most part we love the school and its teachers and staff. I do believe we are encountering more bahavioral problems which are not allowing our staff to teach to the best of their ability. Parent participation isn't what it used to be either. And watch out for the PTA they are very clickish.

Both of my daughters attented Stevens from K-5, and both loved it. The school has an excellent High Academic Performance program. The HAP teachers 'switch places' every year, so the girls (being one grade apart) never had the same teacher. That was a big plus for me. The school does encourage parent involvement - the students put on several productions throughout the year for various occasions, and performed for the other students in the school as well as any parents who could attend. All of the teachers my girls have had were strict, but very kind, and provided the perfect environment for learning. I would recommend this school for anyone I know.

JTStevens has given 2 of my 3 children many learning experiences they may not have gotten elsewhere. In 2nd grade, my sons' class had a garden they tended and learned about, in 4th grade his teacher introduce algebra to them. His particular class had Spanish from kindergarten through 2nd grade. They introduced music and art in the 3rd grade. We've participated in the invention convention as well as the science fair. The P.E. coach is outstanding. He's introduced the kids to tennis, hockey, rollerblading, the general basic sports, and more. He takes a team of runners/walkers to participate in the cowtown 5K each year as well.

Great honors programs, lost a lot of senior teachers to transfers and retirements, good on disipline, feels safe to kids, few Parents are supportive of the PTA programs and Volunteers are given inordinate amount of influence, very sincere teaching staff, coach encourges paticipating in 5k run and tries to offer options to learn inline skating, many, many 5th grade field trips to Ft. Worth museums.

J.T. Stevens is exactly what it clams to be the best school in the Southwest USA. We have been at J.T. Stevens for 7 year and counting. The teachers and staff at the absolute best. Dianne Duke

(Parent of a child at JT Stevens for 10 years as of 2004) Dr. Forrester did a great job of developing the teachers and the systems in place at JTS. Ms. Dollahite and Ms. Williams has added to his work. Key for safety is the Campus Monitors know parents and kids - most by name. AR (Accelerated Reader) is a great tool. My votes for best teachers: (K) Krehlik, Parsons, Southard (1) Sutphin (2) Garrett, Park (3) Kellett, Shuler (4) Parmelee, Wells (5) Stone, Lewis, (Price). Other teachers could be on this list, but I don't remember interacting with them.

I have a 1st grader at JT Stevens and could not be any happier with the school. The teachers and support staff are all so caring and friendly. The environment is safe and fun for the kids. The neighborhood supports the school in many positive ways. Cheers to Ms. Veazey and Ms. Sutphin - two outstanding teachers!

We have had two children attend this school and it was a wonderful experience for them both. From the office staff, school nurse, and librarian to the support staff and PTA, it was a safe and caring environment. In spite of all that, we feel most of the credit must go to several outstanding teachers, such as Ms. Shuler and Ms. Lewis, for sharing their love of learning with our children.
