It is interesting to see some of the posting especially about the parents from other parents. I have a 10th grader who graduated from Elliott as well as my 8th grader. I have 5th grader who is finishing his elementary years at Elliott, following in his siblings shoes. This school has many teachers who have been here for more than 10 years and that in itself is a blessing. Considering the fact it takes a whole village, then parents must work with the educators and vice versa. I believe this school has been a great educational experience for me and my family. We love the teachers and we loved Ms. Henderson and Mr. Anderson starting growing on us. We are excited about Mr. Moore and the things he has planned for Elliott. I pray some of the parents learn what it means to be a parent and stop expecting the school and staff to educate and raise their kids!
I am the ROOM PARENTS COORDINATOR,at Bill J.Elliott Elem.,I need room parents for each grades levels this school years of 2012-2013.We needs all the help we can get this school years please come out and support your childrens school this years.
I opened this school as a kindergartner in 1988 and now my niece goes there. I am glad that the level of education has not decreased at all
My son went to kindergarten at this school. I think the teachers do the best that they can with what they are given. The reality is that this school (like so many others) has very large classes. Teachers are polite, the principle was difficult to contact (there is a new principal, now) , and the children were not being challenged. We had to look for a school that allowed our child to grow and be challenged. It was safe at least.
I think that the faculty and staff at BJE are doing what they can with the lack of help that they get. We as parents have to train our children at home first. All of the teacher's may not be the best, but leave room for growth. I had to learn that. I know people who pay for schooling for their child and they still have concerns at times.
I am a parent and I feel most of the parents at BJE should be investigated. Many don't want to raise their children, but looks for every excuse as to why they can't handle their kids. I've read the reviews and I am willing to bet that the negative remarks are from parents who can't do anything with their kids and looking for an excuse. I don't know what else the teachers at BJE can do, maybe if they start buying the kids' uniforms, then the parents will be happy.
Bullying and Racism is a problem here. Although the assistant principal and principal assure me they go over it. I feel they are missing the kids who aren't paying attention to the message.
I think that the class that my son attends needs more organization and control. It seems that there is never any type of control in my son's 2nd grade class whenever I go to observe his class. I think that some of the teachers are very impolite and unprofessional in their manner whenever someone visits.
For the most part... the teachers are pretty nice, but im not impressed by this school. I am a busy working mom, and its hard for me to keep up with my 3rd grader as much as i would like to. I dont like to know at the last minute that my son is having some trouble...and the teachers are very impolite when u want to know why your childs' grade has dropped. The teachers need better training.
I believe that the faculty has great intentions for some of the troubled students, but I do not like how my children are being ignored or held back from learning. As a parent who spends as much time with my children teaching at home as the teacher does at school, I feel that the staff at the school could show a little more respect when questioned about my childrens learning program. My children will not be attending the school for much longer
We transferred our kids from a private school to the FW ISD 4 years ago. Two of them went to BJ Elliott. We absolutely love it! The teachers that we've had and the principal are absolutely awesome. My kids are in the HAP program which we are blessed to be a part of. My youngest needed even more of a challenge, and her teacher made sure she had one. Whatever issue came up, it was dealt with appropriately and professionally and in a timely manner. We are glad we chose this school!
This is one of the worst school that my child has attended. The prinicpal and teachers are getting a free check from our tax money. The Texas State Board needs to come in an check on the laziness of the workers. They don't care about the kids. The teacher's act like children. It seems that we have children (teachers) teaching children. They are very petty. They are not teaching the kids anything. They are showing them how to be lazy. Mrs. S Morrow is a very good teacher. I wish they would pick more teachers like her.
The teachers at the school are very polite, but it is sometime difficult to reach some of them when there are concerns with your childs grades. My 2nd grader had a great reading teacher.
My daughter attended Bill J. Elliott last year as a kindergartner and I was not all that impressed. I thought her teacher was very nice, the safety was great.
I have had a long history with Elliott. It's a great school with very knowledgeable caring teachers. I do however wish that we had access to music and p.e. in the lower grades. Parent involvement could be better, that's an area we really need to work on. Come on parents let's get even more involved! To anyone moving into the area you will enjoy the warm feeling you will receive when entering Elliott.
Excellent school, principal, teachers, staff, parents & most of all a great group of kids. I would recommend this school all over the world. Job well done!
