Teacher effectiveness: Neutral

Some are, some aren't. Some are very much like their boss. Fools gold.

As a parent who has had my children in this school for several years, I can not, with a good conscience, recommend this school to anyone looking for a private school education. It seems as if the administrators want to run the school more like a business than a school. Now, while I know that money is needed to operate, that is not what I am talking about. The administrators (primarily the president and principal...who will be the new assistant school superintendent for the Fort Worth Diocese) have a history of considering the business moniker, "the customer is always right." While you not see a problem with this, consider that the school has been dumbed down to conform to the complaining parents with lower performing students. The teachers, some of whom I know on a personal level, are being forced to make accommodations for students without documented, or tested, disabilities. One example is that one student may have to take a 15 problem timed test while all the other students take a 100 problem test in the same time frame. Over time, other kids figure the system out...get lazy...their parent(s) complain...and another accommodation is made. This takes time away from the other students' learning experience and does not encourage educational excellence one would expect for the tuition price. Discipline across all grade levels of this school has been in rapid decline over the last few years. This last year, alone, their was no assistant principal, no counsellor, and the principal was mostly absent...off chasing a new job. There is a reluctance to discipline the students because....remember "the customer is always right." We experienced far less discipline issues and bullying in the public school system. If you are only looking for a Catholic faith education, you are much better off having them learn it from your parish CCD program. The faith portion of this school is so watered down that it is barely even recognizable. With the new diocesan position, over all the Catholic schools, of one of the main perpetrators of this schools rapid decline, it is more likely that nothing will get better here...and the cancer will most likely spread to the other campuses as well. This experience has ruined our view of Catholic school education...and we, a devout and faithful Catholic family, will never return to any Catholic school because of it.

Mrs. Baker, Mr. Kincannon, and Mrs. LoCoco are the best. Teachers are the heart of every school. This school has a good heart.

my school is awesome it has great leadership and most of the kids in it are very mature but my school does not have a very good music program. I would like that to improve next year. the uniforms are very strict. you can not even wear pony tails or hairbands on your wrist. I recommend this school but do hope these things will change next year or I might leave.

Saint Andrews is a great school if you are looking for: academics are challenging, the discipline is fair, the environment safe and respectful. I want my kids in an environment with the above!

Love this school and community. You and your children will make lifelong friends. The academics are challenging, the discipline is fair, the environment safe and respectful. Your kids will leave this school prepared for any high school in the city.

Preschool and Kinder are fine. Beyond that, look real hard at your available public school. Policy changes are not communicated well - often by hearsay and then confirmed later. Principal is aloof. Middle school has most of the problems you think would be limited at a Catholic school. Overall, disappointed.

- a
Incredible! The teachers and the staff are amazing. The students are all kind, and learn how to be responsible Christians first and foremost.
